Corrupt politicians have turned America’s third-largest city into a crime-ridden wasteland.
Illinois’ Governor wanted to push Chicago’s disastrous policies on every corner of the state.
Now he’s getting torched over one brazen attack on real lawmen.
Nobody understands firearms like the police and deputies who depend on them on a daily basis to serve and protect.
Illinois sheriffs are going to the mat against Governor’s unconstitutional gun ban
Now Sheriffs across Illinois are standing up for the rights of those under their protection to bear arms.
A new blatantly unconstitutional law ironically named the “Protect Illinois Communities Act” which was contrived to essentially ban the manufacture and ownership of firearms with magazines containing 12 rounds of ammunition and anything leftists could get away with dubbing “assault weapons.”
This blanket ban comes after two different cities in the state implemented their own bans.
According to the president of National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) this latest move is the leftists’ latest effort to escalate the battle over Second Amendment rights.
“Semi-auto and magazine bans are blatantly unconstitutional. This law violates the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens in Illinois and directly flies in the face of the Bruen decision issued by the Supreme Court seven months ago,” Dudley Brown, NAGR’s president explained.
“We know this statewide ban against the most popular firearm in America is retribution for the lawsuits we filed against Naperville and Highland Park,” he added.
“The Governor has made it clear that he intends to use the full force of the State Police and ‘all law enforcement’ to enforce his heinous unconstitutional gun ban. This cannot be allowed to stand,” Brown also noted.
After Governor J.B. Pritzker signed the bill into law on January 10, dozens of sheriffs across the state vowed to protect the rights of their voters.
“Part of my duties that I accepted upon being sworn into office was to protect the rights provided to all of us, in the Constitution,” Edwards County Sheriff Darby Boewe wrote in a Facebook post.
“One of those rights enumerated is the right of the people to KEEP and BEAR ARMS provided under the 2nd Amendment. The right to keep and bear arms for defense of life, liberty and property is regarded as an inalienable right by the people,” he added.
According to Fox News a full 74 departments have posted statements against the law.
Governor threatens to remove pro-Second Amendment sheriffs
Governor Pritzker fired back by claiming he would remove every rebelling sheriff from office.
That blew back in his face in a big way.
“Pritzker doesn’t have the authority to ‘fire’ anyone who is elected; sheriffs included,” Art Goodrich, a published author and blogger for the national fire service, tweeted.
“Ever since Pritzker got a taste for authoritarian rule through his unconstitutional executive orders for COVID, he thinks he is the sole arbiter in this state,” the retired Illinois Fire Chief added.
Pritzker claims those who fight back against his political will are putting themselves at risk when they face voters in the next election.
But based on the wasteland Chicago has turned itself into with its preposterous firearm laws, it’s unlikely voters living in rural Illinois are pining for life in a world where criminals control almost all the firearms—and they aren’t shy about using them.
