The universities are the epicenter of the “woke” madness.
The radical progressivism Americans are experiencing around the country began on college campuses.
And one Yale law student’s career is in jeopardy for a ridiculous reason.
There’s no greater sin that can be committed on a college campus than challenging the immersive left-wing culture.
A conservative Yale law student found that out the hard way when he sent out a harmless party invitation.
He immediately was hit with multiple complaints for his “crime.”
The Washington Free Beacon reports:
The second-year law student, a member of both the Native American Law Students Association and the conservative Federalist Society, had invited classmates to an event cohosted by the two groups. “We will be christening our very own (soon to be) world-renowned NALSA Trap House . . . by throwing a Constitution Day Bash in collaboration with FedSoc,” he wrote in a Sept. 15 email to the Native American listserv. In keeping with the theme, he said, the mixer would serve “American-themed snacks” like “Popeye’s chicken” and “apple pie.”
Referencing fried chicken and the slang term “trap house” was somehow supposed to be “triggering” for the black students at Yale Law.
First, fried chicken and apple pie are American mainstays eaten by everyone.
Recently, there was a nationwide debate over who had the better crispy chicken sandwich: Popeyes or Chick-fil-A.
The debate was indicative of the fact that people of all races injoy fried chicken, which shouldn’t even need to be said.
And leftists have co-opted the term “trap house,” so they have no room to criticize.
The Free Beacon continued:
“Trap house” has been a term used in progressive pop culture since at least 2016, when the socialist podcast “Chapo Trap House” burst onto the scene. Hosted by three white men, the podcast has received sympathetic profiles in the New York Times, the New Yorker, and the Guardian, none of which suggest that there is anything racial about its name. Once associated with inner city crack dens, “trap house” has also become generic slang for any place where young people can score beer.
The law student, who wants to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation – which is a rational fear at a deeply progressive institution – is being bullied by woke students and administrators who want an apology for his “transgression.”
Elite schools like Yale are arguably the most far gone in terms of far-left indoctrination.
Yale was in the news five years ago when students at the school were reduced to tears after reading an email that said students had the maturity to select their own Halloween costumes without prohibitions from administrators.
America’s universities cannot be reformed.
At this point, they should be avoided if at all possible.
