Crime rates have skyrocketed out of control in big blue cities all across the country.
Now one of the wokest Senate candidates running in 2022 just got caught on video admitting everything that’s wrong with the Left’s approach to crime.
But Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer can’t believe videos about this Senate candidate keep getting out.
Again . . . ?
Wisconsin Democrat Senate candidate Mandela Barnes has stepped in it again.
Barnes is the current Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin and is mounting a challenge to Senator Ron Johnson (R).
In a newly unearthed video, Barnes says that it is “unfortunate” prisoners do not have voting rights.
On Our Issues Milwaukee, Barnes said, “We aren’t talking about people who get to make decisions. We are talking about incarcerated individuals who don’t have the right to vote, which is unfortunate of itself.”
This position is in line with that of other leftists across the country who seem to be more than willing to cater to criminals than to represent law-abiding citizens.
But if his coddling of criminals weren’t bad enough, the hypocrisy makes things even worse.
Barnes paid nearly $600,000 in taxpayer dollars for his state police detail over two years while cozying up to the defund the police movement, an amount that dwarfed his Republican predecessor’s spending.
The contest promises to be a close one as Joe Biden carried the state by just a fraction of a percentage point in a 2020 election rife with voter irregularities and questions about the validity of mail-in ballots.
Wisconsinites can’t believe this man is leading the polls
Recent polling from Trafalgar shows Barnes with a narrow 2-point edge, but this is closer than previous polling had indicated.
The closeness of the contest has not prevented Barnes from promoting far-Left ideas.
In addition to his objection to felons losing the right to vote, Barnes has also pushed to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Rounding out the full menu on the leftist wish list, Barnes also seeks driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants, wants to give in-state college tuition to illegal immigrants, and supports defunding “over-bloated” police departments.
He’s also all for canceling the Senate filibuster, and packing the Supreme Court.
Green New Deal on steroids
In still another video, Barnes says he supports the Green New Deal and more, saying “we have to think so much deeper and so much broader.”

Johnson’s campaign spokesperson, Alexa Henning, says that Barnes has tried “to hide his complete endorsement for the far left’s radical policies, just like he tries to hide from the press. But he cannot hide from his own words of support for policies like defunding ICE and defund the police, low bail, higher taxes, and the Green New Deal.”
The contrast between Barnes and the Republican incumbent couldn’t be more clear, and hopefully that bodes well for Johnson’s chance in November.
