Hollywood elites’ and Blue State Karens’ virtue-signaling sparked nationwide chaos before the 2020 elections over the death of convicted criminal George Floyd.
More than two years later, citizens in blue cities and nationwide are still suffering after what the lawless Left spun up over it.
Now this Friends tv millionaire dropped jaws after she finally piped up about the hysteria.
The creator of the Friends television series dropped jaws with what she had to say about the death of convicted criminal George Floyd.
Seemingly in a wave of panic about ex post facto cancelation, Friends creator Marta Kauffman apologized and forked over $4 million.
Cancelation for politically incorrect behavior is all too common but in this case a Hollywood leftist has run scared of the diversity mob, and she hasn’t even said anything that could be deemed “off color.”
Kauffman has decided to pay for her sins, literally, by pledging $4 million to her alma mater, Brandeis University in Boston.
Why, you ask?
The 1990s-era sitcom is now viewed in some quarters in a negative light not because it was essentially a slightly less funny ripoff of Seinfeld (it kinda was) but because of the sitcom’s lack of diversity.
The millions she says will establish an endowed professorship in the school’s African and African American studies department.
Kauffman told the Los Angeles Times, “I’ve learned a lot in the last 20 years. Admitting and accepting guilt is not easy. It’s painful looking at yourself in the mirror. I’m embarrassed that I didn’t know better 25 years ago.”
The Summer of Love, complete with the rioting and civil unrest in the wake of George Floyd’s death in 2020 was apparently the precipitating event for her feelings of guilt.
Kauffman recounts, “It was after what happened to George Floyd that I began to wrestle with my having bought into systemic racism in ways I was never aware of. That was really the moment that I began to examine the ways I had participated. I knew then I needed to course-correct.”
Thank goodness for her she has the means to buy forgiveness from the outrage mob.
And now that the cash is flowing, Kauffman feels much better about the whole situation.
She said, “I’ve gotten nothing but love. It’s been amazing. It surprised me to some extent, because I didn’t expect the news to go this wide. I’ve gotten a flood of emails and texts and posts that have been nothing but supportive. I’ve gotten a lot of ‘It’s about time.’ Not in a mean way. It’s just people acknowledging it was long overdue.”
Sadly, Kauffman’s endowment to the blue state university is only likely to exacerbate the problems so much of America now faces.
The lawless Left was birthed in precisely the type of grievance studies courses that she wants her millions to fund.
