You would think she would have shown more compassion but that wasn’t the case.
That’s because when you govern as a left-wing ideologue, there’s no room for facts to change your worldview.
Now Muriel Bowser’s response to a father who lost three kids to violence causes outrage.
Some politicians have the gift of being able to mix it up with their constituents and show that they can relate to their concerns.
It’s often important when it comes to winning elections.
Back in 2004, a national poll from Quinnipiac University asked whether registered voters would rather flip burgers and have beers with George W. Bush or John Kerry.
Bush prevailed in the poll by a margin of 50-39 and went on to win the election.
But in certain deep-blue pockets of the United States, the winner of each general election contest is a foregone conclusion, and that means that those in power don’t even try to do what Bill Clinton did when he famously said, “I feel your pain.”
Such is the case with Washington D.C.’s Democrat Mayor, Muriel Bowser.
John Evans is a resident of our nation’s capital.
His 14-year-old son Avion Evans was shot at a Metro station after taking a train home from school in Northwest D.C. on April 4th.
Now he’s looking for answers as to what can be done to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
But it appears that those answers won’t be forthcoming from the mayor.
A cold response from the mayor
According to the local TV station Fox 5 DC, when asked by local D.C. media whether she planned to meet with the grieving dad, the Democrat mayor responded with a callous “No.”

Adding insult to injury, Evans’ loss of his son follows the death of two of his other children because of rampant and worsening crime in the Democrat-run city.
Last year, Evans grieved the loss of another son who was shot while doing yardwork, and in 2016 another of his sons was stabbed to death at a metro station in Northeast D.C.
A grief-stricken father is looking for answers to solve the crime epidemic
Evans wants to speak to city leaders about the worsening crime problem in the city.
When asked why she had no plans to meet with the family, Bowser said, “I’m not going to talk about their concerns with you. I’ll talk to them about it because obviously, that’s troubling to us. I’ve answered your question. Any other questions?”
Evans said, “The mayor said that she was going to talk to us first. Nobody has reached out to us. We have not spoken to the mayor. We have not talked to anybody but the detectives.”
He added, “I mean we love our kids. I mean, I don’t know if people realize, but we love our kids. We just have to deal with what we’re dealing with in this culture. You know what I’m saying? We really love our kids, we’re just trying to figure out how to navigate this culture without them getting hurt or being a part of the violence in the culture.”
Since 2017, gun violence in Washington, D.C. has increased 40 percent.
Just this week, shootings across the nation’s capital resulted in three people being killed.
