One of the most damning indictments of the modern-day Left is that no dissent is allowed, and anyone not completely all-in on all facets of leftism is ostracized as a heretic.
But put a leftist like disgraced former New York governor Andrew Cuomo in a position where they no longer have anything to lose and cracks start to emerge.
So now Andrew Cuomo has just dropped a truth bomb that Joe Biden will be furious over.

So it appears he’s had a change of heart on border policy.
A mistake for Biden to open the border with no plan
On his podcast Cuomo blamed President Joe Biden for his handling of the southern border and called his actions a “mistake.”
It was a stunning turn of events for Cuomo who seems to have found, if not hawkishness on the border, then at least sanity – for a Democrat.
While he was governor of the Empire State, Cuomo pardoned several illegal aliens with criminal convictions.
Now, Cuomo allows that “southern states were right” about the problems that opening the border would cause.
Cuomo billed the podcast episode as an “in-depth look at the problems at the U.S. southern border and the chaos it is creating for cities and states across the nation.”
During the episode, Cuomo said, “It was a mistake for President Biden to open the border without having a plan to handle the tremendous flow of people.”
Reading between the lines, what actually is being said is that Biden was wrong to reverse the Trump-era immigration policies that were working with zero thought on how to handle the hundreds of thousands crossing the southern border as a result of those policy changes.
According to Breitbart News, “As of October 2022, 5.5 million individuals had been ‘encountered’ at the southern border since Biden took office. Perhaps what is more, roughly 800,000 border crossers have been released into the United States without a court date since Biden took office.”
“Southern states were right”
Cuomo has taken issue with the state of Texas busing border crossers to blue cities and states but said, “Southern states were right that opening the border created a tremendous hardship for them to handle. They were right that the federal government was not prepared. The immigration crisis is a federal problem and a federal responsibility.”
While in office, Cuomo remained soft on illegal immigration, approving budget deals giving billions in taxpayer-funded benefits to illegal aliens who lost their jobs during the coronavirus in New York.
While it would be easy to dismiss Cuomo’s sudden change of opinion on these matters as a cynical ploy to remain relevant, any converts to sanity on immigration policy are surely welcome.
