From Anchorage, Alaska to Bangor, Maine, and everywhere in between, crime is raging out of control.
Years of pro-crime policies passed by radical Democrats have created an environment that allows crime to flourish.
But now small business owners in this crime-infested city are resorting to desperate measures.
Overworked and underfunded police departments are resulting in much more crime
America has a serious crime problem, especially in most major Democrat-controlled metropolitan areas.
One city in particular that is plagued with violent crime is the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In fact, crime has gotten so bad in the ironically named “City of Brotherly Love” that many small business owners can no longer rely on the Philadelphia Police Department.
So in order to prevent lawlessness at their places of business, many are opting for hiring private security as well as employing Pennsylvania State Agents.
One such business owner is a man by the name of Neil Patel, who owns two KARCO gas stations in downtown Philadelphia, and 22 across the entire area.
Patel hired Pennsylvania State Agents, a private security firm, to help him stop criminals attacks at his stations.
Patel told Philadelphia ABC 6 that criminals had been “Selling their drugs openly. Cops here, they don’t do anything. Robberies, stealings, vandalizing my car.”
After a string of crimes at his businesses, Patel was desperate to act, and having heavily-armed guards outside of business has proved to be a major help.
Pennsylvania State Agent Andre Boyer said the company’s protection is more effective than normal security insisting “We’re Pennsylvania State Agents and we’re not security. Basically, what we do is security details when the public calls upon us when the police can’t be there.”
Boyer went on to say “The first week there was tension from the public seeing someone with an AR shotgun walking around,” who also said some people asked, “‘Why are you here? Are we in Beirut?'”
However, it appears as if the response has been mostly positive from KARCO customers.
One customer named Jack Rock told ABC 6 that “I have my license to carry, I’m always ready to go for myself, so it’s like whatever… It’s nice and safe for me. I get my juice, go to my car without somebody else jumping in it.”
The bottom line is that people do not want to be victims. And given that the Philadelphia police are overstretched and underfunded, keeping people safe is more difficult than ever.
Radical Democrats who have destroyed the State of Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia are entirely to blame.
Pro-crime policies like reduced bail, if any, and defunding the police have caused this crime crisis and there is a tremendous amount of blood on the hands of the Left.
Crime can easily be prevented with more police and more armed citizens, but as long as Democrats are calling the shots, this will never happen.
