Pete Buttigieg has failed upward into a White House cabinet position.
He couldn’t even fix the potholes as the Mayor of South Bend, Indiana.
Now Mayor Pete is laughing at citizens in John Fetterman’s state.
A horrific train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, near the state line with Pennsylvania has failed to get the media attention it deserves.
Officials burned the chemicals that were being transported on the train in an attempt to stop them from going up in flames in an uncontrolled fire.
The result was noxious gas released into the atmosphere amid a mushroom cloud of black smoke.
Buttigieg circus train arrived clowning around amid railway tragedy with balloon jokes
Meanwhile, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg had absolutely nothing to say about the incident.
Instead, he was cracking jokes.
Buttigieg appeared at the National Association of Counties Legislative Conference and said, “It’s had its challenges. I mean, if you look at what the American transportation systems have faced in the last two or three, partly because of the pandemic, we’ve faced issues from container shipping to airline cancellations. Now we got balloons.”
The “balloons” line—a reference to the Chinese spy balloon that was finally shot down by Joe Biden after traveling all the way across the continental United States—got a laugh from the crowd.
But the derailment and subsequent toxic fumes are no laughing matter.
The recent train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio is nothing short of a tragedy.
This is another transportation failure under Mayor Pete's leadership.

Congressman Andy Biggs wasn’t the only Republican calling out Buttigieg for being missing in action.
Lauren Boebert wrote, “Pete Buttigieg is nowhere to be found YET AGAIN as toxic chemicals are spewing out in East Palestine, Ohio after a train crash. While he’s worried about ‘racist highways’, our nation’s transit systems are falling apart.”
Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna wrote, “Time to call Pete Buttigieg in for questioning about what is happening to the great people of Palestine, Ohio after the horrific train derailment and planned toxic chemical spill!”
PA Governor gave the all-clear
Meanwhile, back in Senator John Fetterman’s (D-PA), his fellow Democrat and newly sworn-in Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro – who has presidential aspirations – made a big mistake when he told evacuees on his side of the state line that it was safe to return to their homes.
Shapiro said in a statement, “Air quality samples in the area of the wreckage and in nearby residential neighborhoods have consistently showed readings at points below safety screening levels for contaminants of concern. Based on this information, state and local health officials determined that it is now safe for community members to return to their residences.”
But that claim has widely been disputed, especially with pets and wildlife dying in the area, and people reporting symptoms such as blood-red eyes and severe coughing.
