Areas controlled by Democrats, particularly those with progressive prosecutors, are reverting back to 1990s levels of crime.

Philadelphia sadly hit a high-water mark for murders in 2021, and several west-coast cities have been beset by crime.

Los Angeles residents have experienced over 130 follow-home robberies where criminals tail customers from high-end stores to their residences.

Even leftists in Beverly Hills are arming themselves.

And stores are beginning to take action in order to curb the trend of “flash mob” robberies.

CBS SF BayArea reports:

“​​Having already cut hours because of rampant shoplifting, the Safeway in San Francisco’s Castro District has installed new security measures to deter thieves. Customers tell KPIX 5 they have noticed more security guards inside and outside of the store, and now they’re seeing more security gates and barriers at the entrance. An automatic gate closes after each person to make it harder for thieves to make a run for it. Safeway also added poles to its shopping carts to make them difficult to remove from the store.”

Bay Area resident Chris Meijia told local reporters, “Honestly, I think it’s probably good that they did that cause there was a really bad shoplifting problem almost every single time I came here, there was some type of ruckus happening.”

In California, shoplifting under $950 worth of merchandise is considered a misdemeanor and far-left District Attorneys aren’t prosecuting the cases, so police essentially are not intervening.

The result has been multiple broad-daylight burglaries where criminals brazenly stroll out of stores with hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise.

Several Walgreens pharmacies have left the Bay Area due to persistent burglaries.

Safeway said in a statement:

“Like other local businesses, we are working on ways to curtail escalating theft to ensure the wellbeing of our employees and to foster a welcoming environment for our customers. Their safety remains our top priority. These long-planned security improvements were implemented with those goals in mind.”

Democrats’ pro-crime policies do not work, and local businesses and customers are paying the price.

Whether it is rampant forest fires due to mismanaged forests, uncontrolled crime due to relaxed crime laws or punishingly high taxes . . . living in California is truly becoming a nightmare.

These unbearable conditions have caused a mass exodus from the state.

For proof, just look at the latest census data . . . California is set to lose a House seat for the first time in the state’s history while Texas is set to gain two.

People are just plain fed up.

But one person who fled California is not somebody you would ever expect . . . a top bureaucrat in California’s education system.

According to reports, Pamela Kadakia who served as a California Department of Education equity project manager, was caught red-handed working remotely from Texas.

This is, of course, banned in California, not only because remote working from another state is not allowed, but also because Texas is on an 18-state list of states that are banned for travel to public employees for having “unjust laws” . . . whatever the hell that means.

After being caught red-handed working from a travel-banned state, Kadakia has since been forced to resign.

This bureaucrat was paid nearly $200k in a position designed to find how to make education systems in the state more equal and just.

Sounds like a ridiculous waste of taxpayer dollars . . . perhaps her firing was not in vain after all.

Unfortunately for Californians, they’re going to refill the position with another overpaid political hack.

Globalist George Soros is getting his money’s worth.

Progressive district attorneys that he’s bankrolled across the country are spreading havoc.

Now a radical prosecutor is at war with one Democrat Mayor.

San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin is one of many far-left prosecutors funded by George Soros.

Boudin is as radical as they come – both his biological parents and adoptive parents were Weather Underground terrorists, and he himself worked for Hugo Chavez.

Boudin and other progressive prosecutors are laser-focused on letting criminals go free regardless of the public health cost.

The result in San Francisco has been rampant crime, and so much human feces on the streets that an app was created to alert pedestrians where it was.

Even leftist Mayor London Breed is fed up with the crime.

Breed said during a fiery speech:

“It is time for the reign of criminals who are destroying our city – it is time for it to come to an end. And it comes to an end when we take the steps to be more aggressive with law enforcement, more aggressive with the changes in our policies, and less tolerant of all the bullsh*t that has destroyed our city.”

If that speech had been made by a Republican, MSNBC would’ve called it fascist.

In reality, it’s just common sense.

But Boudin doesn’t agree with his Mayor’s new tack.

He said:

“We can’t arrest and prosecute our way out of problems that are afflicting the Tenderloin. Arresting people who are addicted to drugs, jailing people who have mental health struggles, putting folks who are vending hot dogs or other food on the streets in cages will not solve these problems, and they are certainly not the only tools available . . . Right now in San Francisco it’s easier to get high than it is to get help. That has to change . . . I will do everything in my power to make the Tenderloin safe for all of San Francisco.”

This is all part of the progressive lie.

San Francisco is one of the richest and most left-wing cities in the country.

Roughly $300 million is spent on homelessness, but like any government bureaucracy, the more money spent, the worse the problem gets.

It’s not in agencies’ best interest to solve problems that would put them out of work.

Another problem is that, philosophically, leftists have decided that it’s okay for people to live on the street.

People with severe mental health issues are not voluntarily going to commit themselves for treatment.

So long as leftists let criminals, addicts, and people with mental health problems build encampments, the problem will never be solved.

And leftists seem okay with that arrangement.

New Yorkers responded to the insanity of communist Mayor Bill de Blasio by voting in former police chief Eric Adams, who signaled that he was a moderate.

But so far, Mayor-elect Adams does not appear to be a moderate reformer.

The city voted to allow noncitizens to vote in municipal elections, which could be one of de Blasio’s most radical moves on his way out the door.

National Review reports:

“The New York City Council on Thursday passed a bill that would allow an estimated 800,000 noncitizens to vote in municipal elections. The measure passed in a 33 to 14 vote with two abstentions and will become law unless Mayor Bill de Blasio steps in and vetoes the bill, though he has said he does not plan to do so. Even if the Democratic mayor has a change of heart, there was enough support on the council to override a veto.”

That prompted Florida Senator Marco Rubio to say New York was run by “psychos.”

Rubio called out the inane proposal in a direct video message:

Rubio is far from an immigration hawk, and this move is even beyond the pale for him.

This phenomenon is cropping up in other blue areas.

San Francisco already allows noncitizens to vote in school board elections.

Democrats have adopted a globalist mindset where citizenship is virtually meaningless.

Stateless globalists love mass migration into the United States because it undermines the country’s sovereignty.

Now noncitizens are being allowed to vote in local elections.

There is no limiting principle for the Left.

They will get as crazy as they are allowed.

Taxpayers are footing the bill to clean up after Democrats’ failed pro-crime policies in this state

“Woke” leftist politicians created an atmosphere of absolute anarchy and destruction in 2020.

Now one Governor had the bright idea to grow his bureaucracy to deal with the mess.

And taxpayers will pay hundreds of millions to make up for their leaders’ incompetence.

California Governor Gavin Newsom wants to spend $300 million to deal with “smash-and-grab” thefts that have been plaguing retailers in the Golden State for more than a year.

Newsom’s plans include spending $18 million to create a new “theft unit.”

There is also $255 million earmarked for grants to help local police put more officers in stores to deter crime over the next three years.

Another $30 million would go to help District Attorneys go after criminals targeting retail stores and stealing vehicles.

According to CBS News, Newsom kept highlighting how retail crime has become a problem across the United States and has “a profound impact on our feelings of safety.”

He did not happen to point out that the crimes seem to be centered primarily in blue cities.

Newsom’s own San Francisco wine shop, PlumpJack, has been broken into four times this year.

While Newsom has suddenly decided that he is in favor of law-and-order, he doesn’t seem too interested in enabling small business owners to protect themselves.

He recently vowed to introduce new legislation that would allow private citizens to “sue anyone who manufactures, distributes, or sells an assault weapon or ghost gun kit or parts in CA.”

Smash-and-grab crimes have been targeting everything from small independent toy stores to large chains like Walgreens.

High end retailers have also been targeted from Louis Vuitton in San Francisco to a Bentley, Lamborghini, and Rolls-Royce dealership in Chicago.

The thieves smashed displays at the car dealership and swiped watches worth as much as two million dollars.

That’s because the next New York City school chancellor is shaming educrats before he even gets into office.

New Yorkers are known for their blunt talk – and the new Mayor who will officially begin his term in January knows how to pick a guy who can communicate (excruciatingly) clearly – especially when targeting education department bureaucrats.

“We are getting ready to not just play around with this, we’re going to turn over the tables,” Banks said. “What’s the value add for having thousands of people who work at Tweed? For having thousands of people in these high paid positions? There needs to be a transformation, and it will start at the top. We will turn the tables over.”

When asked who may be out of a job in the education department, Banks said, “Every job that educates, protects and cares for children will be safe. Be clear what I said,” Adams replied. “If you’re there because you enjoy going to conferences, if you’re there because you’re using taxpayer dollars to extend your educational criteria to pad your resume, if you’re there for anything other than educating our children, then you should be concerned.”

He also asked a hard-hitting question, “If you left, and your job disappeared tomorrow, would that change anything that’s going on in any of our schools?”

He then pointed out that, “65 percent of black and brown children never achieve proficiency” on tests.

He added, “if everybody in the Department of Education went home and all the kids went to school, you could get those same results.”

You probably won’t be shocked to find out that the United Federation of Teachers did not endorse Banks.

Banks was nominated by the new Mayor, Eric Adams, who “clearly understands the need to move quickly before more New Yorkers give up on their city,” as Michael Goodwin put it in a New York Post opinion piece.

To say that the current Mayor, Bill de Blasio, is unpopular would be putting it mildly and, according to Goodwin, “Never in the history of New York City has a ‘bum’s rush’ been more necessary and welcome. Even before Bill de Blasio, the Worst Mayor Ever, leaves office, the dismantling of his reign of disaster is beginning.”

We can only hope it’s one that will ultimately help children unlucky enough to end up whiling away years in the blue state’s schools.

One Governor vowed to turn a conservative win into an excuse to ban guns

Leftists can turn good news into bad policy at lightning speed.

It’s practically the opposite of the Midas touch where anything they touch turns to crap.

Now one Governor is proving it by using a recent Supreme Court ruling to try and ban guns in his state.

California Governor Gavin Newsom says he’s going to use the Texas abortion ban – recently upheld by the Supreme Court – as a model to implement his gun control plans.

No doubt, this terrible idea will prove highly contagious in Democratic circles.

It’s a typical leftist move just about anyone could have predicted: they’re furious they can’t kill innocent unborn babies in some states, but they’re determined to get even by disarming law-abiding citizens.

Of course, it won’t be that straightforward, but it’s likely to be effective.

The Supreme Court upheld a Texas law that allows private citizens to sue anyone who helps a woman get an abortion after the baby’s heartbeat can be detected.

After that historic ruling came out, Newsom made a big announcement on Twitter, “If states can shield their laws from review by federal courts, then CA will use that authority to help protect lives. We will work to create the ability for private citizens to sue anyone who manufactures, distributes, or sells an assault weapon or ghost gun kit or parts in CA.”

While Newsom’s approach doesn’t include banning gun ownership outright or confiscating guns from homes, it’s an aggressive first step.

Without question, if this works Democrats will be on a serious power trip.

No doubt, even more conservative Californians will end up fleeing the state for more gun-friendly states like Texas and Idaho.

Whether Newsom cares to look at it or not, leftist policies are likely costing California quite a bit of money already.

Currently, California ties with Nevada for having the highest unemployment rate in the nation at 7.3%.

Meanwhile, in Idaho, there’s a building boom due to people escaping blue states like California.

Idaho has the fourth lowest unemployment rate in the nation at 2.8%.

And the cause is anything but natural.

It’s because Biden’s failed open borders policies are destroying this community as the crisis worsens.

The Mayor of Yuma, Arizona recently issued a disaster declaration “due to the unprecedented numbers of migrants entering the city prior to being processed and released by Border Patrol.”

Disaster declarations are often issued after mother nature wreaks havoc on a particular area (like the recent horrific tornadoes that ripped through the middle of the country).

However, the declaration issued by Yuma’s Mayor will likely have similar results by making the city eligible to get state and federal funding to deal with the problem.

And, quite frankly, he’s spot on: the Biden administration is a disaster.

According to a recent Epoch Times article, “In the past week, Yuma has been inundated with illegal immigrants as thousands crossed the border. Some got tired of waiting by the border fence to be picked up by Border Patrol, so they walked into the city.”

Clearly, America is a magical land where one can wish for nothing more than to be arrested.

The Yuma County Sheriff told the news outlet that on December 4, “when the latest influx began, the 911 dispatch center was tied up for hours with calls from illegal aliens asking for transport, food, and clothing.”

The number of illegal aliens in that part of the country has been skyrocketing since it became apparent Biden wasn’t going to take border security seriously.

In order to understand the scope of this mess, you need to know something about how the federal government keeps track of time – because nothing can be simple when it comes to the federal government.

The federal fiscal year runs from October 1 until the following September 30.

The fiscal year ending in September 2020 included about 8,800 arrests by Border Patrol agents in the Yuma Sector.

By September 30, 2021 that number had increased by about 13 times with more than 114,000 illegal aliens arrested.

Even so, it looks like they’re only getting started.

In October this year, agents already made 21,623 arrests – and that was before an even more intense surge started in early December.

Even if things settle back down to the level of activity seen in October, we’d be looking at more than 259,000 uninvited (and, apparently, demanding) guests pouring through a single hole in our border.

It is – without question – a legitimate emergency.

Sadly, it’s one that will likely divert many millions of taxpayer dollars to clean up after a passive President with little interest in doing his job.

Things are so bad, an NBC sports crew was recently robbed while working on a story.

The Mercury News reports:

“An NBC sports crew was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning in Oakland, police said. The crew was on assignment in the Jack London Square area when three armed individuals took a camera from inside the crew’s vehicle, according to Oakland Police Department spokesperson Kim Armstead. None of the crew members were holding the camera at the time and there were no injuries. The robbery marks the third incident involving news organizations in Oakland in the last two and a half weeks. On Dec. 3, a San Francisco Chronicle photographer was robbed at gunpoint in West Oakland. On Nov. 24, Kevin Nishita — a security guard and former police officer — was fatally shot during an attempted robbery downtown while he was with a KRON-TV Channel 4 news crew.”

Jack London Square is also the place where former California Senator Barbara Boxer was mugged.

Boxer told reporters that she said to the attacker, “How can you do this to a grandmother?”

Far-left Mayor Libby Schaaf had no choice but to address the spike in crime.

He said:

“While we are not backing down whatsoever in our historic investments in prevention as well as a non-police response option called MACRO, we must address police staffing shortages and that is what we will do.”

Yet again the “defund the police” rhetoric ran smack-dab into reality.

Schaaf is the same Mayor who dubbed Oakland a so-called “sanctuary city” and tipped off illegal aliens in the city to ICE raids.

At the same time, Schaaf called for an FBI investigation into an alleged “hate crime incident” because of what he thought were nooses that were left on trees in a public park.

It turned out that a black resident in the neighborhood put ropes on trees in order to exercise because gyms had been closed down due to the pandemic.

Even after this information came to light, Schaaf still referred the matter to the FBI.

California Democrats continue to vote blue no matter what, and now they’re suffering the consequences.
