Crime is completely out of hand in most big blue cities these days and getting justice after a wrong is almost impossible.
One girl’s dad got the last laugh on a perp.
But the father got an infuriating response after he took matters into his own hands with a criminal who targeted his daughter.
Pro-crime policies have made rampant theft a massive problem in big blue cities over the past few years.
Things have reached a point where many corporations have decided trying to business in some areas is hopeless with corporations like Starbucks, Whole Foods, and Walmart announcing that they’re pulling out of certain markets.
So, when a teen in the Los Angeles area had her e-bike stolen she had little hope of recovering it.
She had removed the bike’s battery and locked the wheel and pedals.
But apparently, that wasn’t enough to stop one thief.
And the loss left Ehrman devastated.
“I drive like 12 miles a day,” Johnny Ehrman told Fox 11. “I was sobbing outside my workplace. I actually had some of my coworkers be like, ‘What’s happening? Where is your bike?’”
Thankfully, Ehrman had slapped a $29 Apple Airtag on the $3,000 bike.
When she pulled up the app she could see where the bike was headed so she called the police right away.
Dad took matters into his own hands and got jaw-dropping reaction from Orange County authorities
Her father, David, didn’t feel like the Orange County Sheriff’s office was taking action fast enough.
When he saw the bike had been parked at an apartment complex in a nearby apartment complex, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
According to Fox 11, David Erhman briefly confronted the thief and took back his child’s rightful property.
“I yelled at him, ‘I’m grabbing my daughter’s bike!’” Erhman explained.
Then he got his hands on the bike and “hightailed it out of there.”
“The dude just stood there with the look on his face like I’ve never seen anyone with that look,” he added. “I think the look was shock. Like ‘How did you get my location?’”
Of course, the Sheriff’s Office was appalled by such common sense behavior.
“As much as the convenience of technology plays a vital role in the quality of our lives, we want to remind our communities to utilize their local law enforcement services when they’ve been victimized by a crime instead of placing themselves into harm’s way,” a spokesperson said in response to the story.
But the truth is that these days blue city residents are being forced to learn to stick up for themselves.
