Dave Chappelle has fallen out of favor with the Left.
The same elites that once praised him now try to tear him down.
And all damnation broke loose when Dave Chappelle asked this one question about a Democrat hellscape.
Dave Chappelle’s last few comedy specials have been massive hits for Netflix.
But while fans still find him funny, liberal elites now deem him to be “problematic.”
The turn happened when Chappelle realized that telling jokes about transgender people was a bridge too far for the Left.
There were calls for Netflix to take down his comedy special The Closer, and activists even staged a protest at Netflix headquarters.
However, Netflix stood by the comedian as he refused to back down.
During an impromptu comedy session in San Francisco, where Chappelle had had legendary performances, the comic ripped on the deteriorating city.
Chappelle reportedly asked the crowd, “What the f*ck happened to this place?”
The comedian poked at the out-of-control homelessness crisis and the pro-crime policies that are degrading the city.
The San Francisco Gate reported that Chappelle “told a story about eating at an Indian restaurant in the Tenderloin a few nights earlier, only to have someone defecate in front of the restaurant as he was walking in. San Francisco has become ‘half “Glee,” half zombie movie,’ he said, and he remarked that the whole city is the Tenderloin now. “Y’all [N-words] need a Batman!” he exclaimed.”
Many people in the city have become fed up with the pro-crime policies, which is why residents recalled far-left George Soros-funded District Attorney Chesa Boudin.
But the city’s problems run deeper than one man.
Liberals in the city cannot let go of their fundamentally broken policies.
Many businesses have already left San Francisco because of rampant crime that police have been disempowered to stop.
Theft under $950 is essentially not prosecuted, which means organized retail theft is commonplace.
Businesses cannot survive under those conditions.
San Francisco isn’t the only California city encountering these problems.
Chappelle was famously tackled on stage during a performance by a deranged man in the crowd.
Pro-crime Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón, who survived a recall effort on a technicality, declined to charge Chappelle’s attacker with a felony.
However, the attacker was wanted in connection with an attempted murder in a separate incident.
These are some of the characters roaming the streets in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and Chappelle is sick of it.
