Democrat leaders are running their cities into the ground.
Bad policies have led to chaos.
And a far-left stronghold in Gavin Newsom’s state has fallen after one shocking incident.
California Democrats enjoy a supermajority in the state legislature.
That means no idea is too crazy for passage into law.
Pro-crime policies promoted by district attorneys backed by George Soros are making areas of big cities almost unlivable.
Governor Gavin Newsom’s hometown of San Francisco has become a poster child for mismanagement and “woke” policies run amok.
Recently, a mob lit a self-driving car on fire.
Reuters reported that “people were celebrating China’s Lunar New Year by setting off fireworks. A person jumped onto the hood of the Waymo vehicle and broke its windshield. Another person also jumped on the hood 30 seconds later as some in the crowd clapped in approval…”
A witness at the scene explained to Reuters, “That was when it went WILD…There were 2 groups of people. Folks who encourage it – and others who were just shocked & started filming. No one stood up – I mean there wasn’t anything you could do to stand up to dozens of people.”
The crowd used fireworks to set the car ablaze.
Waymo, manufacturer of the driverless vehicle, said in a statement, “The vehicle was not transporting any riders and no injuries have been reported. We are working closely with local safety officials to respond to the situation.”
This arson event is just the latest crime in a city that is trending in the wrong direction.
When Newsom was Mayor of San Francisco, he vowed to end homelessness.
It only got worse under his leadership, and it has become a mark of national shame since Newsom became Governor.
The city even created a map to warn pedestrians where there is human feces on the streets.
Of course, city officials were able to clean up the streets when Chinese President Xi Jinping showed up.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis slammed Newsom for that double standard during their debate.
DeSantis said, “In one of the previous greatest cities this country’s ever had, human feces is now a fact of life, except when a communist dictator comes to town…Then they cleaned up the streets. They lined the streets with Chinese flags. They didn’t put American flags there. They cleaned everything up. So they’re willing to do it for a communist dictator, but they’re not willing to do it for their own people.”
At some point, residents in San Francisco will have to make a decision about the direction of their city and vote out the feckless politicians.Â
