Going through life as a far-Left Democrat can’t be easy and must be exhausting.
With that worldview there’s a racist behind every tree, a climate “denier” under every rock and a “transphobe” around every corner.
So this Democrat Senate candidate in a top target state couldn’t help but out himself as a radical with one outrageous claim.
Wisconsin is a must-win Senate target for Chuck Schumer
Mandela Barnes is the candidate Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is betting on.
Barnes is vying to replace Republican Senator Ron Johnson, and he is not just your garden variety leftist kook – he’s the sitting Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin.
But that hasn’t tempered his drive for making outrageous claims.
Speaking on the “Black Oxygen” podcast, Barnes said that national parks are a part of the systemically racist fabric of America because the “parks are on land that was indigenous.”
Barnes said, “It’s important to create more welcoming spaces because things haven’t always felt welcome. And that’s historical, just that perspective, given the fact that national parks weren’t made for the enjoyment of people who weren’t white. National parks are on land that was indigenous.”
So, those dastardly racists are at it again.
Nevermind the fact that anyone is welcome at any of our national parks and that’s exactly as it should be.
Can a park be racist?
No – you have to take into consideration how one man is unhappy in the “feels” to accept that kind of lunacy.
But according to polling, Barnes is doing well in his quest to unseat Senator Johnson, with a Marquette Poll showing him in the lead by 7%.
Barnes is no stranger to, shall we say, “exotic” ideas.
In a July video Barnes lamented the “awful” founding of the nation.
Barnes said, “Things were bad. Things were terrible. The founding of this nation? Awful! But you know, we are here now. And we should commit ourselves to do everything we can do to repair the harm because it still exists today — the harm the damage — whether it was colonization or slavery.”
Now that we are (nearly) a century removed from slavery and generations past the segregated south one wonders whether leftists will EVER feel that the “damage” is finally overcome, particularly in this era of “equity” and talk of reparations.
Barnes’ worldview likely stems in part from being a “long-time leader” of the Working Families Party which positions itself as a “national left-wing organization responsible for supporting and mainstreaming the most radical ideas and politicians in America.”
This guy is already second in command of his state’s executive branch.
Let’s hope Wisconsinites do the rest of us a solid and think twice before elevating him to a position to vote on national policy.
