So much of “wokeness” is built on lies.
That opens the door for far-left grifters to exploit people.
And a “woke” organization was proven fraudulent after one shocking event.
The Left has pushed the narrative that LGBTQ people are under attack.
In reality, far-left activists are receiving pushback amid radical propaganda efforts such as Drag Queen Story Hour, or inappropriate books being placed in public school libraries in classrooms.
The victimhood narrative created a cottage industry for organizations claiming to protect LGBTQ youth.
Fake charitable causes
One such organization was Casa Ruby, a nonprofit organization for LGBTQ kids based in Washington, D.C.
Casa Ruby was created by trans-identifying founder Ruby Corado, but the whole thing turned out to be a scam.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia released in a statement, “Corado received more than $1.3 million from the Paycheck Protection Program and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. Instead of using the funds as she promised, Corado stole at least $150,000 by transferring the money to bank accounts in El Salvador, which she hid from the IRS. During 2022, when financial irregularities at Casa Ruby became public, Corado sold her home in Prince Georges County and fled to El Salvador. FBI agents arrested Corado on March 5, 2024, at a hotel in Laurel, Maryland, after her unexpected return to the United States…Casa Ruby effectively ceased operations in July 2022 when it shuttered its transitional housing, failed to pay its employees, and faced eviction from multiple properties for failure to pay rent.”
Corado reportedly deposited $400,000 from Casa Ruby into personal accounts.
Left-wing grifts like this have become common.
The motherlode of scams
Black Lives Matter was famously exposed as a fraud.
Local BLM chapters accused the national organization of never sending a penny to them or to relatives of people killed in police altercations.
Meanwhile, the three founders ended up buying real estate and collecting big sums of cash.
BLM was jokingly referred to as “buying large mansions.”
BLM primarily served as a big fundraising operation for the Democrat Party.
Donations to BLM went into the coffers of Act Blue, which raises money for Democrat campaigns.
Casa Ruby is one of many organizations ripping people off in the name of protecting LGBTQ individuals or other victims of “oppression.”
These types of scams will continue until centrist liberals realize that hard-left activists are feeding off of her compassion and goodwill.
