The ongoing nightmare of COVID has dragged for nearly two years.
But one silver lining has been increased vigilance on K-12 education.
Now school officials were arrested after covering up one heinous crime.
Two school officials in Rialto, California outside of Los Angeles were arrested for failing to report three allegations of sexual assault to law enforcement.
Assistant Principals David Yang and Natasha Harris at Wilmer Amina Carter High School were charged by the San Bernardino County district attorney with two misdemeanor counts of failure to report child abuse or neglect and one count of child abuse, which classifies as a felony.
The father of one of the accusers told NBC Los Angeles, “They’re mandated reporters and they are supposed to do their job . . . They should be held accountable every way shape and form possible.”
One mother said that her 15-year-old daughter had been assaulted by a 17-year-old boy at the school and that her daughter was told by the school, “Maybe it was the way you were dressed or you might be seeking attention . . . For that reason, she kept quiet because she was afraid she was going to get expelled from school.”
After one girl came forward, another accused followed suit and alleged that the same male had assaulted her as well.
Syeda Jafri, spokesperson for Rialto Unified School District, said, “The safety and well-being of students is our number one priority. Accordingly, these allegations are taken with extreme seriousness. The District will continue its internal investigation until all the facts related to this matter are brought to light. We will also continue to work with local authorities as they conduct their own investigation.”
A similar scandal happened in Loudoun County, Virginia where a biological male who claimed to be nonbinary sexually assaulted two different girls.
The story broke when Scott Smith, father of one of the victims, protested at a school board meeting and was arrested for disturbing the proceedings.
The school district tried to bury other allegations of alleged abuse.
This is happening at a time when parents are taking a harder look at their children’s schools.
Parents are discovering that radical teachers and administrators are pushing far-left “woke” nonsense while keeping kids masked and not even protecting them from sexual assault.
Homeschooling experienced a boom due to COVID lockdowns, but now parents are withdrawing their kids for other considerations.
And even though schools are opening back up, the homeschooling trend isn’t reversing.
