Democrat-run major cities are collapsing.
They have finally reached their breaking point due to bad policies.
And officials in Gavin Newsom’s state are forcing one man to do the unthinkable.
Pro-crime policies implemented by George Soros-backed district attorneys are decimating communities.
One consequence is anarcho-tyranny, where the criminals get free rein (anarchy) and the law-abiding citizens get the crackdown (tyranny).
For example, serial shoplifters get a slap on the wrist if they steal under $950, but a good Samaritan who stops a thief could get hit with felony charges.
Anarcho-tyranny in the Bay
And in Oakland, Victor Silva, who is 102 years old and wheelchair-bound, is being forced by city officials to pay thousands of dollars in fines for not painting over graffiti on his back fence.
Silva has to paint over the graffiti or pay a $1,100 fine, plus $1,277 for a failed re-inspection of the property.
Silva’s daughter-in-law Elena told the New York Post, “It was so absurd, it’s like a joke. If you drive around the city and see the graffiti everywhere, it’s just—I don’t know what to say.”
Silva used to paint over the graffiti himself before he was confined to a wheelchair.
He explained, “Just had a roller and a paintbrush and just painted it. It was very easy because I was a contractor, you know. I’ll be 103 in two months or so. That slowed it up a little bit, you know.”
Even when the graffiti gets painted over, the vandals simply come back.
Silva’s son Victor Jr. commented, “It’s hard to keep up with it because as soon as we get it painted, it’s gonna be graffiti on it again, and it won’t last.”
The Silva family owns a small shop that often gets broken into.
A lack of services
Silva Jr. said that when he dials 9-1-1, “I’m put on hold every time. So it’s hard to understand where our tax dollars are going. They can’t answer 9-1-1, but they can come out and hassle you about a fence? . . . I would hate to think that there [are] other hundred-year-old people that are being harassed like this. Oakland has to change. The system is not working.”
Meanwhile, Oakland District Attorney Pamela Price, one of many Soros DAs, is more concerned with letting criminals out of jail.
Even members of the Oakland NAACP rebuked Price and the city for refusing to address crime in their supporters’ neighborhoods.
Add this graffiti to the list of reasons why Californians are fleeing the state in droves.Â
