Illegal immigration has completely overwhelmed New York City and other major cities in recent months.
Even many Democrats are growing tired of the depravity that has overwhelmed New York City as a direct result of the rapid increase in illegal aliens arriving in the Big Apple.
But New Yorkers are at wit’s end after this arrest makes headlines across the nation.
New York City has become an epicenter for America’s border crisis
In January, video footage went viral showing a gang of illegal aliens harassing and eventually assaulting two uniformed New York Police Department officers.
To add insult to injury, many of the suspects were immediately released without bail, with some of the suspects gloating about their attack and flipping off news cameras as they left the courtroom.
One of the suspects, 19-year-old Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel, has already landed himself in legal trouble again.
On Tuesday, the NYPD arrested Gomez-Izquiel on charges of robbery and petit larceny after he allegedly robbed a Macy’s department store in Queens.
Regarding this arrest, the New York Post reported, “(Gomez-Izquiel) is one of four people charged for allegedly entering the Queens Center Mall around 5:33 p.m. Tuesday and “acting in concert” to steal clothes that they tried to hide in bags.”
Adding, “When a 27-year-old security guard confronted the group, they “struggled,” police said, and one of the suspects punched him in the face.”
In regards to the Times Square attack that Gomez-Izquiel allegedly participated in, many New Yorkers and Americans for that matter, are demanding answers.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams addressed these concerns earlier this month, saying, “Anyone who is a repeat offender of a violent crime should not remain on our streets, and if they are out of the migrant asylum seekers, they are found guilty, I think that the federal government should do their job of deporting that person.”
However, Eric Adams went on to support New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who failed to charge most of the suspects by adding, “I communicated with the DA over the weekend and he has been extremely thorough in this case. You can easily bring someone to justice, but you have to complete the task of making sure the evidence is right so they can be held accountable for their actions because you don’t want to make a mistake in this case.”
Public officials have completely failed to keep New York City safe
Whether it is Mayor Eric Adams or District Attorney Alvin Bragg, many New Yorkers feel that the people who are supposed to represent them have failed to do their job.
The president of the Bodega and Small Business Group, Francisco Marte, spoke out about the matter to CBS News, saying, “I don’t understand how the DA could let them go without putting any bail or hold them there when they attack the NYPD.”
He added, “We need to bring public safety back to New York. We, all New York, needs public safety. We need to go to work.”
