Crime has overwhelmed the nation, with some Democrat-controlled parts of America becoming unlivable.
Things have gotten so bad in some of America’s cities that many people are afraid to leave their homes to go to work, school, or the store.
And Kathy Hochul resorted to this desperate measure as crime spirals out of control.
New York City’s latest crime prevention tactic demonstrates how bad things have gotten in the Big Apple
New York City’s subway system has always had a bad reputation for its seediness.
However, in recent years, the New York City subway system has become inundated with crime, with theft and violent attacks happening every day.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has dispatched hundreds of National Guard personnel to tackle the lawlessness in the Subway in response.
On Wednesday, The New York Post reported, “In total, 750 National Guardsmen and 250 state and MTA cops will help the NYPD patrol “the city’s busiest transit stations” and check commuters’ bags, Hochul said – adding the initiative came after meetings with Mayor Eric Adams, MTA officials and the NYPD last week.”
Adding, “The announcement of her ‘five point plan’ to combat transit crime came the day after Adams — who was noticeably absent from the gov’s press conference — had already revealed the NYPD would be enhancing bag checks and stepping up its presence in the system.”
Hochul issued a statement on the matter, saying, “These brazen heinous attacks on our subway system will not be tolerated.”
She added, “No one heading to their job or to visit family or go to a doctor appointment should worry that the person sitting next to them possesses a deadly weapon. They shouldn’t worry about whether someone’s going to brandish a knife or gun. That’s what we’re going to do with these checkpoints.”
New York’s latest crime crackdown comes in the wake of many Democrat parts of the nation amplifying their law enforcement capabilities in an effort to deter out-of-control crime.
Following the race riots of 2020, many of these same cities drained the budgets of law enforcement.
Even more concerning, many altered the criminal justice system to make it nearly impossible to hold career criminals accountable for their crimes.
In January, footage went viral of several illegal aliens attacking NYPD officers near Times Square, sending shockwaves all across the globe.
Many believe that these attacks could serve as a turning point in New York City’s current crime plague.
New York City and other large cities have paid the price for bowing down to the “woke” mob
Following the death of George Floyd in 2020, many Democrat-controlled parts of the nation bowed down to the “woke” mob without skipping a beat.
As a result, police department budgets across the nation were slashed and justice systems were upended, making it harder than ever to keep dangerous criminals in prison.
These states and cities have paid the price for their obedience to the “woke” mob, as millions of Americans have already fled urban centers in favor of less expensive and safer suburbs and rural communities.
