Joe Biden claims that electric vehicles will reduce pollution.
But they have a dirty little secret.
And Joe Biden slammed his fist in rage over this painful reality about electric vehicles.
California is at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution that Democrats are trying to force on the country.
The state is awaiting the approval of President Joe Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to ban the sale of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035.
Democrats hailed this move as a way to reduce the pollution emitted by the tailpipes from gas-powered vehicles.
Electric vehicles create more pollution
Electric vehicles being better for the environment and creating less pollution is an article of faith for Democrats.
A study found that they’re actually releasing more pollution into the atmosphere than the gasoline-powered vehicles they’re replacing.
Environmental lawyer Michael Buschbacher – who worked in the environmental division of former President Donald Trump’s Justice Department – told Fox Business that California was going to make its air dirtier by banning gas-powered vehicles.
Gas-powered vehicles release less particulate matter from the wear and tear on their tires into the atmosphere.
“What they’ve done with particulate emissions… is they’ve assumed that a comparable EV and a comparable internal combustion engine vehicle are going to have the same amount of particulate matter emissions, and that’s just not true,” Buschbacher explained. “Today’s cars are so clean that almost all of the particulate matter comes from tire wear.”
California and Biden’s EPA are ignoring the fact that the heavier weight of electric vehicles – due to their massive batteries – is releasing more particulate matter.
“Electric vehicles are about 15% to 30% heavier than a comparable conventional vehicle. And so studies have shown that the particulate matter from that tire wear and net particulate matter, in general, is significantly higher for EVs. But when California and EPA look at it, they treat them the same,” Buschbacher said.
He added that considering the particulate matter released by tires released by gas-powered and electric vehicles is a mistake.
Buschbacher co-authored an editorial in the Wall Street Journal explaining the foley of California and the Biden EPA’s treatment of particulate matter.
“As we explained, that’s just wrong and it’s… just one of many ways in which the thumb gets put on the scale to force electrification,” Buschbacher remarked.
California turns to magical thinking to promote electric vehicles
The flawed assumption used by California is that one day electric vehicles will become significantly lighter than they are now.
There’s no evidence presented by the state on how this will ever happen.
“So they don’t even have anything. They’re just saying, ‘Well, we think in the future because of magic reasons nobody knows why that things are going to change.’ And that’s just irresponsible, I mean I think that’s the very definition of arbitrary and capricious regulatory action by California,” Buschbacher said.
Electric vehicles are poised to do more harm to the environment than their supporters will ever admit.
