More illegal aliens are crossing America’s southern border with Mexico daily than at any other time in American history.
For this reason, immigration has emerged as a top issue, with even some Democrats lamenting the need for more border security.
But Governor Greg Abbott could not believe Alejandro Mayorkas’ latest remarks about the border.
Joe Biden and his administration are still determined to keep the southern border open despite public backlash
Thousands of illegal aliens cross the border every day and many have landed in American cities across the nation.
As part of an effort to ease the congestion of illegal aliens in border communities, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has bussed migrants to these so-called “sanctuary cities” in recent months with the expectation that these Democrats would welcome them.
However, things have not worked out that way as many Democrat politicians like New York City Mayor Eric Adams have screamed bloody murder over the issue.
Adams has even gone as far as to say that illegal immigration “could destroy” the city of New York.
Rather than take even an ounce of blame for the current border crisis, recently impeached Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has instead pointed the finger at Republicans like Governor Abbott.
Last Sunday on CNN’s broadcast of “State of the Union”, Secretary Mayorkas addressed a soundbite from Governor Abbott where he said, “The fact that the matter is there are laws on the books passed by Congress of the United States right now that authorize the executive branch to deny illegal entry. The President does not need new laws. The President needs a backbone to make sure that he said he enforces the immigration laws that are already on the books.”
Mayorkas fired back with, “Couldn’t be more wrong, couldn’t be more wrong. As a matter of fact, former President Trump tried to close the border and it was enjoined in the courts and never saw the light of day. This coming from an individual who is purposefully refusing to coordinate, communicate, or collaborate with other officials, and trying to wreak havoc in other cities and states across the country. That is not a model of governance and he couldn’t be more wrong.”
In essence, Mayorkas believes that the bussing programs were coordinated efforts to wreak havoc in Democrat-controlled parts of the nation, rather than attempts to ease the congestion of migrants arriving in Border States like Texas.
These comments from Mayorkas show just how politicized Joe Biden and his officials are regarding this issue
Rather than take any of the responsibility for the border crisis, Joe Biden and his cronies in Washington D.C. have worked tirelessly to point the blame at Republicans.
In his segment with CNN last Sunday, Mayorkas did not offer any substantive policy proposals to keep the border safe but rather complained about what Republicans have allegedly done.
Such political posturing will not do anything to make the border safer, which has emerged as a top concern for voters across the nation.
