New York City has become a cautionary tale for any community contemplating giving full control to the far left.
The city has gone from prosperous and relatively safe to a crime-infested disaster area in less than a decade.
Now Eric Adams was forced to take one drastic action in the wake of immigration center chaos.
New York’s politicians have prided themselves in their proclamation that New York was to be a Sanctuary City.
New Yorkers underestimated Joe’s ability to foul things up
The virtue signaling was easy when consequences were manageable but that all changed three years ago when Joe Biden and his administration came to power in Washington, D.C.
New Yorkers should have seen it coming, as former President Barack Obama allegedly once told an aide, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f*** things up.”
And boy, did he ever!
Millions of illegals have crossed into the United States over the past three years directly because of Biden’s refusal to secure the southern border and his promotion of policies that actively enticed illegal migration.
This has led to border community resources being stretched to the breaking point, prompting Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) to bus the new arrivals to sanctuary cities like New York.
Over 100,000 people have arrived in the Big Apple over the past two years.
Mayor Eric Adams (D) has had no good answer as to what to do with all of his newly invited guests.
Dozens of shelters have been hastily put together to house thousands of immigrants, many of which are in deplorable condition and crime-ridden.
New York City Streets not even safe for cops amid illegal immigrant crime explosion
Earlier this month a group of men believed to be illegal immigrants were released without bail by far-left, Trump-hating Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
This occurred even after a brutal beating of two New York Police Department officers outside a shelter.
The conditions at these shelters have gotten so bad that Adams has been forced to take radical action.
Adams has imposed a curfew on illegal immigrants this week and will require them to remain inside shelters from the hours of 11 PM to 6 AM.
This directive applies to 20 shelters in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx,
Over 3,600 illegal immigrants are impacted by Adams’ order, about half of whom are single adult males.
A spokesperson with City Hall said in a statement: “Beginning this week, we will be instituting a curfew policy at our emergency sites, in line with curfews already in place at traditional shelters and respite sites that serve migrants and longtime New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. This policy will allow for more efficient capacity management for migrants in the city’s care.”
The happy face being put on by city officials can’t hide the fact that inviting the third world in, completely at odds with federal immigration law, has been a complete and total disaster.
As the Post Millennial reports, “Local residents have been filing complaints to the City about the increase in crime and migrant beggars knocking on their doors and begging for cash throughout all hours of the day.”
The failures are a textbook example of leftist policy run amok, from the federal level at the Biden White House, down to the state level under radical Governor Kathy Hochul, to Eric Adams’ administration.
For the good of New Yorkers and all Americans, the border needs to be secured and immigration laws need to be enforced.
It appears that Democrats aren’t up to that task and polling shows that voters are ready to replace them in November.
