Far-left Democrats are running major cities into the ground.
Leaders are even doubling down on the same bad policies.
And Democrat officials in this stronghold got sued by the last people they expected.
Chicago has become a shorthand word for pro-crime policies run amok.
Far-left Democrats have done little to stem the tide of violence in the city.
Now Chicago is being burdened with Joe Biden’s migrant crisis.
Border states like Texas have been overwhelmed by illegal immigration, and red-state governors began busing migrants to “sanctuary” cities like Chicago so they could do more than simply virtue-signal.
Unsurprisingly, Chicago and other so-called sanctuary cities have had the same problems as border communities in the South.
Black residents have begun to speak out about the constant flow of migrants into their neighborhoods, and a handful of them are suing the city in response.
Cata Truss, a 57-year-old mother on the West Side of Chicago, filed a lawsuit against the city for turning a neighborhood park into a migrant processing center.
Truss, a Democrat, explained, “All these people, I have supported every one of them…I was like, ‘Are you freaking kidding me?’”
Amundsen Park, called the “the crown jewel of the community” is a major recreation area for kids.
Truss explained that the park kept her five sons “out of trouble” by giving them a place to play football.
Truss said, “There’s a humanitarian crisis in the black community…But every time we have a need in our community, we’re told that there are no funds. There’s no money for us.”
But the city has found the funds for illegal aliens coming into the country.
The Free Press reported that “[s]ince August 2022, Chicago has greeted nearly 35,000 new arrivals with resources like laundry services, mental health screenings, and $15,000 in rental support per person—all funds that Truss says could’ve gone a long way in Amundsen Park in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood, where nearly 28 percent of residents live below the poverty line.”
The massive flow of migrants has disrupted black communities on the West Side and South Side.
One Southside resident said at a public gathering, “Politically, having over 500 people in our community will completely wipe out any interests we have. Are you aware that there are immigrant advocates at statehouses all over this country who are advocating for noncitizen voting in local elections? What if that happened here? That would change the mindset of what we as a black community need to thrive here in Chicago. That’s a concern of ours. This is much bigger than the mayor of Chicago, or the Chicago police department. This is an effort to destroy our neighborhoods and silence our voices even further.”
Biden and other open borders Democrats have a huge problem on their hands.
There is only so much that loyal voters will tolerate.
