People are sick of politics as usual.
That’s why Donald Trump grew in popularity in the first place.
And a corrupt Democrat mayor did something too insane to believe.
Chicago has become synonymous with political corruption.
Now a town just outside of Chicago is under the microscope for a corruption scandal of its own.
Mayor Tiffany Henyard of Dolton, Illinois—population roughly 22,000—is being heavily scrutinized for lavish spending on trips, security, and personal salary.
The New York Post reported that “Henyard, who collectively earns a $285,000 salary from her two positions, proposed a nearly 90% cut to her salary if someone else wins her spot in the next election…However, if Henyard is re-elected, her salary would remain the same.”
So Henyard wants to cut the salary of her near $300,000 position by almost 90% only if she loses the election.
The brazenness of her actions is quite impressive.
She also spent $67,000 on first-class plane trips and stays at hotels like the Four Seasons.
When Henyard was called out for her behavior, she lashed out at town trustees for attacking a fellow black person.
Henyard said, “Y’all should be ashamed of yourselves because y’all are black. Y’all are black…And y’all [are] sitting up here beating and attacking a black woman that’s in power…Y’all forget I’m the leader. They want to hear from the mayor…You ain’t learned that yet…The mayor — not the trustees that don’t do nothing. They only run they mouth. Y’all don’t do no work! No work!”

Henyard has even come under fire from former staffers.
The Post added that “Nakita Cloud, who served for a short time as Henyard’s chief of staff in Dolton, said she would regularly invite her aides and supporters to dine at upscale restaurants at the taxpayers’ expense — even though they did not actually discuss government business.”
Cloud said, “I don’t think she’s fit to be mayor. I think she wants to be a reality television star.”
A Henyard spokesperson released a statement defending the extravagant trips.
The statement read, “Regarding the charges for travel and expenses, it’s important to note these expenditures often involve a larger group of officials…These trips play a crucial role in building relationships, attracting investment and securing valuable resources for our township’s development.”
Henyard would make a great Chicago politician with her outlandish behavior and spending.
