Joe Biden and his administration have refused to secure our nation’s southern border, so the border has effectively come to communities across the country.
That’s because millions of illegal immigrants have arrived since Joe Biden’s inauguration.
Now a Chicago-area Councilman put his leftist neighbors on the spot with this challenge over housing illegals.
For decades, left-leaning residents and particularly elected officials of America’s largest cities have virtue-signaled that “all are welcome” in their communities, regardless of legal status.
That was an easy stance to take when there were few repercussions for it.
It’s easy to pretend to be compassionate and to say you care for the down-trodden until they show up in your communities and on your doorstep.
Because Joe Biden has refused to secure our nation’s southern border, millions of illegal immigrants have arrived in the country in just the last three years.
That has put many leftists who put out the welcome mat in a decidedly awkward position.
Josh McBroom is a political conservative.
He’s also an elected Councilman and resident of the affluent Chicago suburb of Naperville, which voted 62-36 for Joe Biden in the 2020 Presidential Election.
McBroom does not want to see tax dollars fund the transient population.
Because of that, he offered up a solution that is generating lots of buzz and hand-wringing within his community as more and more illegal immigrants arrive.
Councilman’s checkmate to bleeding hearts: Are all still welcome?
At a council meeting, he said, “You know, we do hear from constituents on both sides of this, what are we going to do to preemptively stop this? And then we hear from people that tell us we should do more. So we do have a very affluent community, a lot of big homes, and what I’d like to do is direct staff to create a sign-up sheet so for individuals that would be willing to house migrant families. And if there’s people that would do that, God bless them. So if we could raise awareness in that way, I think we need to find out. I think we need to find out who would be willing to house migrant families.”

You could almost hear hundreds of “No human is illegal” signs in the Democrat-heavy community being plucked out of front yards by hypocritical homeowners in two nanoseconds as he spoke.
While some conservatives howled at McBroom’s words assuming he was advocating for placing illegal immigrants in their homes, what he was really doing was making a larger point.
In an interview with Fox News, McBroom said, “This completely blew past them. This is a sign-up sheet for people that have supported open border policy. That’s what this was, and they didn’t see it.”
McBroom: “We don’t have the resources to house these people”
McBroom went on to describe the problem that communities face because of Biden’s open-border insanity, saying, “We don’t have the public resources. We’re not going to be able to house 50, 100 families. We’re not going to pay for them to stay in hotels. I don’t think that it’s in my purview, at least as a city councilman. My job is to protect the city budget and the taxpayers. And it’s just not in my purview to say, ‘hey, we’re going to use your taxpayers to house people that are non-Naperville residents, or non-U.S. citizens, for that matter.’ [Democrats] are doing everything they can to not address the actual problem. And it’s a problem now and it’s just like, ‘hey, you guys tarred us this problem. Do not ask us to fix it for you.”
In the end, the Chicago Councilman is spot-on with his message.
The public, by and large, does not want to see their communities overrun with unvetted immigrants from the third world.
This ongoing crisis has been manufactured by the Joe Biden administration and needs to be addressed at the national level with national border enforcement, or the problem will only worsen.
