New York Governor Kathy Hochul left jaws on the floor with this cringeworthy response to a violent crime wave

Crime has become an unwieldy nightmare.

Democrat officials seem baffled at how to solve the problem.

And New York Governor Kathy Hochul left jaws on the floor with this cringeworthy response to a violent crime wave.

New York City has been experiencing a dangerous rise in lawlessness and crime.

That point was driven home by a far-left black nationalist who shot ten people on a subway in New York.

The surveillance cameras in the subway system were not operational, which exemplifies the dysfunction that has taken root in the city.

And New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who was thrust into the position after Andrew Cuomo resigned in disgrace amid multiple scandals, tried to allay the fears of New Yorkers with a speech, but failed miserably.

Hochul tried to deliver a fiery law-and-order speech, but she ended up sounding like a substitute teacher attempting to wrangle an unruly classroom.

Hochul said, “The people of the entire state of New York stand with the people of this city and this community, and we say ‘No more’ . . . No more mass shootings; no more disrupting lives; no more creating heartbreak for people just trying to live their lives as normal New Yorkers . . . It has to end and it ends now. We are sick and tired of reading headlines about crime, whether they’re mass shootings, or the loss of a teenage girl, or a 13-year-old. It has to stop.”

Hochul’s sleep-inducing speech underscores the lack of commitment of Democrat elected officials.

They talk a good game – in this case, they don’t even do that – but nothing ever gets done.

Communnist Mayor Bill de Blasio allowed crime to run rampant – it got so bad that even he admitted that his bail reform initiatives flopped and criminals were simply going back on the streets and committing more crimes.

Eric Adams, de Blasio’s replacement, also wooed voters with talk of moderation.

As a former police officer, he had some credibility in that regard, but he has done little to curb the growing trend of lawlessness.

Adams admitted on his first day as Mayor that he did not feel safe riding the subway.

He is not alone in that regard.

Bethenny Frankel of The Real Housewives of New York said, “The subway situation is terrifying, and New York is not what it used to be . . . New York City is not safe . . . I have no choice if we’re dealing with Manhattan than to be a helicopter parent, and I choose to not be in New York City.”

New York City needs another law-and-order Mayor to restore order, but that does not seem to be in the cards.
