Blue strongholds are being pushed to the breaking point.

And one criminal made a mockery of Democrat policies for this infuriating reason.

Bail reform
Thanks to the state’s bail reform policies, repeat violent criminals are being let back onto the street.
Even communist former Mayor Bill de Blasio admitted when he was in office that bail reform had failed.
De Blasio said, “I think it’s unconscionable just on a human level that folks were shown mercy and this is what some of them have done. . .We do see some recidivism. I have not seen a huge amount, but any amount is obviously troubling.”
He later added, “There’s a direct correlation to a change in the law, and we need to address it, and we will address it. . .Let’s talk about what is tangibly happening before our eyes. It’s very striking. We know what we have to do about it. Let’s fix it.”
But it has not been fixed.
Now Emmanuel Santiago, an alleged member of the Latin Kings street gang, is out on bail yet again despite having open cases on seven different charges including drug distribution, grand theft auto, weapons possession, and domestic violence.
In addition to the open cases, Santiago has also been involved in 31 different domestic incidents.
Despite his extensive record and gang affiliation, Santiago was given non-monetary bail.
A law enforcement source told The New York Post, “If this guy is who Albany had in mind when they conceived of this bail reform — then I see it’s going exactly as planned. . .the march forward for the sake of ideology. . .Albany and reformers think simply not jailing criminals is championing criminal justice reform — but it’s not — especially if criminals keep committing the same crimes without any corrective action.”
Crime is up
Recent crime statistics in the East Bronx show that rape is up 175%, felony assault is up 18%, grand larceny has increased by 70%, and major crimes overall have increased by 27%.
The law enforcement source added, “And that’s the real problem with recidivism — it is not the sheer number of arrests, but the persistent thought or mindset of disregard for a functioning society. . .The reforms apparently don’t treat a known member of the Latin Kings different than a jaywalker.”
The people in charge could put a stop to the madness whenever they wanted, but they have chosen to accept pro-crime policies at the expense of public safety.
This is what happens in major cities where Democrats have an overwhelming majority.
