The Left is imploding.

They have embraced ideas that cannot stand up to scrutiny.

And a top university in Gavin Newsom’s state got popped for one embarrassing scandal.

Conservatives have long warned that American universities have been infested with radical leftists.

They were largely ignored, but now moderate Democrats are beginning to wake up.

One “woke” concept that has seeped its way into a core tenet of Leftism is DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusivity).

DEI implosion

DEI is simply an excuse for organizations to hire and promote people based on identity politics and for activists to punish organizations that do not.

But now DEI is blowing up in their faces.

Harvard President Claudine Gay was forced to resign after it came to light that she plagiarized much of her academic career.

Now UCLA Medical School’s DEI czar is under fire for doing the same.

Natalie Perry, UCLA’s Cultural North Star Lead, got busted by investigative journalists Chris Rufo and Luke Rosiak for shocking levels of plagiarism.

The two reported, “Perry published her Ph.D. dissertation in 2014 at the University of Virginia about college diversity programs. An analysis of the paper found it ridden with the worst sort of plagiarism, reproducing large swaths of text directly from several other authors, without proper citations. The scale of the plagiarism suggests that Perry lacks both ethics and competence and raises questions about academic programs that push DEI. Perry’s dissertation lifted passages from ten other papers. In key portions of her text, she copied almost every paragraph from other sources without attribution. She fails even to mention at least four of the ten plagiarized papers anywhere in her dissertation.”

As Rufo and Rosiak noted, Perry brazenly lifted entire paragraphs without attribution.

Shocking levels of plagiarism

Not only did she copy work, but some of the citations included were from the original authors.

Rufo and Rosiak added, “[i]n some cases when Perry did include parenthetical citations, she wasn’t citing the papers whose text she had lifted. Instead, she simply reproduced the citations included in those stolen excerpts.”

DEI programs intentionally lower standards in order to manufacture a desired result in terms of representation.

So if an engineering program is desperate to have more women faculty members, the school is choosing from a smaller pool of talent because fewer women are interested in STEM fields.

When conservatives and libertarians bring up that inconvenient fact, leftists retreat to the argument that women have been socialized for generations not to pursue STEM, thus all of society must be changed.

Plagiarism is a serious academic violation, so UCLA has no choice but to take these claims seriously.

Many government-funded projects often go over budget and fall behind schedule as a result. 

And San Francisco lawmakers are red with humiliation as fed-up taxpayers react in this bizarre way. 

This expensive project exemplifies the fraudulent nature of many municipal governments

Ronald Reagan once famously said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the Government, and I’m here to help.”

This timeless adage applies now more than ever, with the federal government, state governments, and municipal governments across the land wasting money like there is no tomorrow. 

San Francisco for example unveiled a new line of public toilets last year that comes with a jaw-dropping price tag of $1.7 million per toilet. 

Earlier this week, a resident named Leslie Crawford put together a party to cynically celebrate the arrival of one of these million-dollar toilets in Noe Valley. 

Per Crawford to ABC 7 News, “You know, this made world news so it was time to take back the narrative and if people are making fun of us, we’ll make fun of us too.”

Locals of the Noe Valley neighborhood banded together and made toilet and bathroom-themed snacks, and constructed signs, figures, and other party favors with a bathroom theme. 

Although these San Francisco residents were able to make light of the situation, many have voiced their outrage with this insanely expansive project. 

In 2022, one resident told ABC 7 News, “Put it to better use. It’s ridiculous. $1.7 million for a stupid bathroom.”

It did not take long for people around the nation to take note of this insanely expansive toilet, prompting elected officials to look for ways to reduce the cost.  

Fortunately, Chad Kaufman, owner of Public Restroom Company, stepped in to donate the toilet to the City of San Francisco. 

Even with the free toilet, city officials disclosed that the installation and other expenses related to the installation of this single toilet come with a $300,00 price tag to taxpayers. 

These toilets do come with some impressive features, including anti-microbial handles and streamlined cleaning features, however, nothing about this toilet should warrant a multi-million dollar price tag, as it did at the beginning. 

How a toilet could possibly cost taxpayers over a million dollars

When reports of San Francisco’s multi-million dollar toilets first spread in 2022, people wondered how a toilet could possibly cost that much regardless of its features. 

After all, $3 million can buy a mansion in most parts of America and can buy a decent residence in San Francisco. 

The answer lies in government waste.  In cities like San Francisco, unions, inspectors, and bureaucrats all come to the trough when these projects take shape, costing taxpayers dearly. 

Layers of red tape also add to the cost and complexity of these seemingly simple projects.

When it comes to American cities with the highest violent crime rates, Chicago takes the cake.

And this troubled city continues to see skyrocketing crime, despite its attempts to tamp the numbers down.

But Chicago’s crime problem is so bad that officials are launching this one off-the-wall idea.

Chicago needs to increase police manpower

It’s no secret that Chicago, Illinois is one of the most crime-ridden cities in the United States.

And this city has seen robberies up by nearly 30% across the city compared to just two years ago.

Chicago Alderman Chris Taliaferro told The Center Square he wishes Mayor Brandon Johnson’s new plan designed to restore law and order focused more on what matters: ramping up manpower in the police department.

According to Taliaferro, a former Chicago Police Department officer and current member of the city’s Public Safety Committee, “We’re down over 2,000 police officers and how can you deter crime when folks know that there’s not enough police officers out here?”

“We’re not just putting the emphasis on policing and we’re letting police officers attrition out and not replacing them responsibly,” he added.

Now that summer is quickly approaching, Mayor Johnson has joined Police Superintendent Larry Snelling and other city officials to detail the department’s new four-pronged attack designed to keep residents safe from crime.

The plan includes deploying “focus missions” to prevent crimes and to deter suspects using technology like license plate readers and pod cameras while also increasing community engagement.

Some neighborhoods in Chicago have seen a spike in robberies as high as 155%.

These robberies include dangerous smash-and-grabs and other types of robberies where crews work as teams to target victims in repeat attacks.

The groups jump out of stolen cars that are used as getaway vehicles.

In response, CPD is hosting what it calls “Vehicle Safety Days” to give Hyundai and Kia owners software updates that are supposed to help slow the thefts of these vehicles.

Taliaferro says he sees some positive aspects to the mayor’s plan, but he also thinks one necessary change Johnson isn’t making is putting more boots on the ground.

A more comprehensive plan is needed

“We have to take that step further and make sure that this summer we have an adequate number of officers on the street that could deter crime. So, it’s a comprehensive plan, I think that we need to look at policing as well as public engagement,” Taliaferro said.

Johnson has attempted to re-emphasize his long-term goal, which is trying to solve the root causes of crime.

He plans to do this by bringing new opportunities and investments to the most underserved communities in Chicago.

However, Taliaferro says there needs to be immediate solutions due to the seriousness of the current crime crisis.

“We’ve been looking at the root causes of crime for 50-60 years without seeing success, so it’s an unproven approach. And then if you want to make those significant reductions in less than four years, it’s going to be almost impossible,” he concluded.

California is being ruined by pro-crime policies implemented by George Soros-funded district attorneys.

One of the consequences is that repeat violent criminals are allowed to roam the streets, which causes businesses to shut down and the taxpayer base to flee.

Over the last few years, California has experienced net negative migration out of the state for the first time in state history.

Crime on film

One video summed up the problem succinctly.

Conservative commentator Benny Johnson filmed a video of In-N-Out Burger shutting down in Oakland, which has been beset by rising crime over the past several years.

While filming the video, Johnson and his crew were robbed in broad daylight.

Johnson said in the video, “In-N-Out Burger is a beloved fast food franchise. They are wildly popular and expanding everywhere, except for in one location. Welcome to the only In-N-Out Burger that has ever closed. This is a historic location. You can see the iconic building, but there’s a fence around it. The signs have been ripped down, and the windows are all boarded up. Why did this In-N-Out Burger close? Well, because people were getting robbed in the drive-thru lane, 1,000 different criminal incidents of people being robbed while trying to get a burger in the drive-thru lane here. . .Yeah, In-N-Out got the f*** out of here.”

In-N-Out is one of several chains that have shut down in Oakland due to rampant crime.

Johnson continued, “The reason that California has descended into a third world criminal hellhole is because of Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies that defund the police and view the criminals as the victim, and not the taxpaying citizen. Speaking of being a victim, we were literally robbed while we were filming this video.”

Soros DA’s at work

Oakland District Attorney Pamela Price is the epitome of a Soros prosecutor.

Her refusal to put away criminals even angered the Oakland chapter of the NAACP.

The organization wrote in a letter, “Oakland residents are sick and tired of our intolerable public safety crisis that overwhelmingly impacts minority communities. Murders, shootings, violent armed robberies, home invasions, car break-ins, sideshows, and highway shootouts have become a pervasive fixture of life in Oakland. We call on all elected leaders to unite and declare a state of emergency and bring together massive resources to address our public safety crisis.”

Pro-crime policies are a disaster, but they will not stop until Democrats feel their political power in these areas is actually under threat.

Michigan is central to Democrats’ hopes of retaining the presidency in this year’s elections.

But an already perilous situation for them has just gotten even worse.

Democrats thought they had Michigan in the bag in 2016.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign, through incompetence or hubris or both, didn’t spend the time and effort needed to win here and, just like in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, the traditionally blue state fell to Donald Trump on Election Night.

Four years later, in the midst of the Covid pandemic, Biden prevailed in Michigan by a narrow margin.

The state is closely politically balanced and it wouldn’t take much to tip things one way or the other.

For many months, polling has shown Biden losing the state to Trump in a rematch this year, citing inflation, crime, and that Biden is a generally uninspiring candidate.

The polls have been even worse for Biden when they included hypothetical third party candidates, as Trump’s support has been stronger among Republicans than Biden’s has been among Democrats.

Some of that can be attributed to pro-Palestinian Muslim Democrats in the state, unhappy about Biden’s handling of the war between Israel and Hamas.

For Biden in Michigan, three’s a crowd

This points to the increasing possibility that the left-leaning vote could be split, given a viable and palatable third-party candidate to that audience.

That’s where Robert Kennedy Junior comes in.

He now has the real potential to muck things up royally for Biden.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. secured a major victory on Thursday when he received word that he would appear on Michigan’s general election ballot.

He was nominated by the Natural Law Party, a small party with ballot access in Michigan.

Natural Law Party Chairman Doug Dern said in a statement released by the Kennedy campaign, “He’s the most qualified candidate in the modern-day history of America. We welcome Mr. Kennedy and [Kennedy running mate] Ms. Shanahan to the party.”

The news was confirmed by the Michigan Secretary of State’s office. 

Kennedy gaining steam across the country

Michigan marks the second state where Kennedy has officially gained ballot access.

He qualified for ballot access in Utah earlier this year.

Early Saturday it was also reported by CNN that Kennedy has qualified for ballot access in Hawaii.

This occurred after a ruling was issued that an objection filed by the Democrat Party of Hawaii “did not meet its burden of proof in this case” and the Kennedy campaign’s We the People Party will be allowed to appear on Hawaii’s ballot in November.

The Kennedy campaign is attempting to secure ballot access in as many states as possible, a costly and time-consuming process for independent candidates.

Kennedy is polling in or very close to double digits in some national surveys and key battleground states, usually pulling more support from Biden than Trump when those same respective surveys poll a two candidate race.

Kennedy has gained more support as a third-party candidate than other independent candidates since Ross Perot thirty years ago and could play a decisive role in this year’s presidential race.

The tide may be turning against far-left prosecutors who refuse to prosecute criminals.

That’s because the result of their rise to power has been nothing short of disastrous.

Now a George Soros-funded California DA may soon be sent packing early by the voters.

Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price was hand-picked by far-left billionaire George Soros.

She, like other officials in solidly Democrat jurisdictions, came to power after a huge cash infusion from the foreign radical who is determined to completely undermine and change law and order in the United States.

During her 2018 district attorney campaign, she received an eye-popping $700,000 from the California Justice and Public Safety PAC.

That political action committee is nearly entirely funded by Soros.

While she failed in her first attempt to gain power in 2018, she would come back to win the race four years later.

Even though she was only just elected in 2022 she’s already made quite the mark – and not in a good way.

Since assuming office, Price has gone all in on supporting the far-left, criminal-coddling, woke agenda.

Soros DA completely betrayed her own community and could lose her job

A website opposed to Price called, Save Alameda for Everyone (SAFE) says, “Price has violated victims’ rights, ignored victim pleas and disrespected people who have been victimized by some of the worst crimes imaginable. She has told mothers that the lives of their children are worth less than the lives of the offender.”

She has even gone so far as to provide training manuals for employees in her office claiming “the carceral state grew out of chattel slavery” and that “modern policing grew out of slave patrols.”

Naturally, those manuals don’t favor punitive action for offenders, instead they propose “addressing the root causes” of criminal activity.

But her actions have landed her in hot water.

According to the Alameda County Registrar of voters, Price’s political opponents have collected 74,757 verified signatures to hold a recall election to remove her.

That number is over 1,000 more than needed. 

Crime has reached epidemic proportions

Brenda Grisham organized SAFE and told the Daily Caller last month, “The whole administration… I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve been in Oakland my whole life, and I’ve never seen the amount of lack of care for the people in this community like what the administration had. I’m gonna advocate for these families. If they need a recall, then I’m going to advocate for a recall.”

Since Price assumed office, over 14,001 burglaries and 6,101 incidents of violent crime have occurred in the city — a 36% and 21% increase, respectively, according to police data. 

Oakland averages 40 vehicle thefts a day, and at least 11,793 vehicles have been stolen since the beginning of 2023.

“Many of us seniors are afraid to walk down the street, and again, carjackings, businesses are closing, all due to crime,” Carl Chan, an Oakland resident told KTVU.

With the required number of signatures having been met, organizers expect a special election to be held in June.

The Golden State is notorious for gun control laws, but California residents are availing themselves of their gun rights nonetheless because of the mad rush of illegal aliens into the state.

Unmanageable problem

Since September 2023, approximately 125,000 illegal aliens have been dropped into the San Diego area.

Dealing with an influx of people that massive has obviously had an impact on the local community.

That’s why residents are buying guns to protect themselves.

Cory Gautereaux, owner of the gun store Firearms Unlimited California, told The New York Post, “The problem for people that live around the gun store is the street dropoffs. . .That’s driven business to us.”

Having thousands of unemployed military-aged men milling around the streets is not a good thing.

Keith Carnevale, one of the gun shop customers, told the press, “My wife and I have had home defense guns for many years. Recently, though, with all the stuff that’s happening south of the border and all the people coming over, my concerns have broadened. . .I don’t think it’s just the people that are coming over to try to find work, I think we have a lot of hostile people that are coming over with ill will, ill intent that will potentially cause chaos.”

Carnevale’s adult son Anthony purchased a gun and echoed his father’s sentiments.

He said, “I don’t think it’s just a matter of the numbers of undocumented people, I think a lot of people are concerned about the state of our own government to be just allowing this and why.”

Anthony is completely correct.

Even Democrats are no longer denying the flood of illegal aliens pouring into the country being allowed by government leaders like Governor Gavin Newsom and Joe Biden. 

On your own

Bill Wells, Mayor of El Cajon near San Diego, admitted, “We see the massive amounts of violence that is happening, a lot from the immigrant situation, but a lot from the homeless situation as well. . .People are frightened and I do believe they’re arming themselves more.”

Establishment politicians have chosen to allow illegal aliens to flow into the country while far-left district attorneys are implementing pro-crime policies.

The result is a toxic mix of lawlessness, so citizens are taking steps to defend themselves.

The new Hollywood release Civil War has sparked a lot of debate.

The film depicts a contemporary America in the throes of a second civil war.

However, viewers have been split on the ideological depictions in the film.

Even though writer-director Alex Garland is a leftist—he made a movie called Men that depicted males as toxically masculine—Civil War seems to have people on both sides of the aisle both satisfied and dissatisfied.

For example, many on the Left were angry that the film did not attack conservatism enough.

Andy no-no

One Antifa sympathizer was furious that the film used archival footage from independent journalist Andy Ngo.

David Hill, Jr.—who identifies as transgender and uses the name Olivia Hill—wrote on Twitter, “In case you were wondering about watching Civil War, they thank actual Nazis in the credits. [Not gonna lie] seeing Andy Ngo and Helen Lewis there really hurts my opinion of [film distributor] A24.”

Ngo responded, “The makers of [Civil War] did not ‘thank’ me in the credits, ‘Olivia.’ That’s as fake of a claim as your profile image. They credited the sources for footage they used. [Hill] represents the delusions of antifa, trantifa and their supporters. Unfortunately, we can’t just laugh them off as internet loons because they often try to injure or kill others through the manifestation of their own self-hatred.”

Ngo summed it up well.

Nobody has done more to expose Antifa terrorism in Portland, and probably throughout the West, than Ngo, who has been targeted for the crime of reporting on the group.

Ngo was assaulted on two separate occasions by Antifa terrorists, one incident landing him in the hospital with brain damage.

Nazis all the way down

Antifa terrorists flippantly call Ngo a “Nazi” even though he is a gay child of Vietnamese immigrants and is sympathetic to Israel.

In today’s political landscape, opposing the Left on any issue is tantamount to Nazism.

For example, Hill mentioned Atlantic writer Helen Lewis, a leftist feminist who famously clashed with Jordan Peterson in a 2019 interview that went viral.

But because Lewis speaks out against the radical transgender mania, she, too, is a “Nazi.”

Rampant shoplifting, open-air drug use, and homeless camps have become a part of everyday life in the City by the Bay.

Now San Francisco police are hoping that they’ve put a stop to crime that hasn’t been seen in America in more than a century.

San Francisco police arrest suspected pirates

Starting last summer, businesses and residents located on Embarcadero, the eastern waterfront of San Francisco, were terrorized by a group of local pirates.

“Last summer and fall, maritime burglars used small, stolen, or discarded boats to ransack large vessels and steal anything they could get their hands on. Then they would either sink the ships or dump whatever was left of the boat miles away in Oakland Harbor or along its shorelines,” the New York Post reported.

The group dubbed the “East Bay Pirates” were terrorizing houseboats, yachts, and businesses in the East Bay which is home to more than 3,000 boat slips. 

Some of the boat owners would chase them into the San Francisco Bay.

These pirates are believed to have come from one of the massive homeless encampments in nearby Oakland.

Residents sounded the alarm on these pirates at a San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission last year.

“The open shoreline of the (Oakland-Alameda) estuary is littered with sunken wrecks and derelict, end-of-life vessels, and crime has risen to truly intolerable levels,” former harbormaster Brock de Lappe said during an October meeting. “Multiple vessels have been stolen and ransacked. Victims have had to resort to personally confronting the criminals to recover their property without the benefit of police support. Is this an appropriate activity for a 79-year-old senior?”

A woman said she had to rescue a man in a sailboat whose ship drifted away after pirates cut the line securing it to the dock.

Resident Dan Hill told Fox News Digital that each raid by the pirates could cost a ship owner tens of thousands of dollars.

Pirates arrested with help from the coast guard

San Francisco’s piracy woes could be contained now that a task force made up of the Coast Guard, San Francisco, Oakland, and Alameda police was launched to protect the waterways.

The East Bay Pirates were arrested after they were caught on video breaking into a business.

Oakland Police discovered stolen goods on a boat while executing a search warrant.

Now the pirates are facing potential charges from the Alameda County District Attorney.

The lawless San Francisco area is seeing crimes return that would have been considered unthinkable in the 21st century.

San Francisco’s prison system has gotten so out of control that the National Guard may have to step in 

The streets of many American cities have become entirely overwhelmed with out-of-control crime, making life miserable for law-abiding Americans. 

San Francisco and the entire Bay Area have seen a particularly vicious spike in crime in recent years, with no end in sight. 

But if you thought the streets of San Francisco were bad, San Francisco’s prison system resembles something out of a horror film. 

Last weekend, things got so bad that the City of San Francisco put two prisons on lockdown after increased attacks on jail staff and deputies. 

According to NBC News Bay Area, “The San Francisco County Sheriff’s Office says it has placed two San Francisco jails on lockdown after an increase in attacks on deputies and jail staff by inmates.  In the wake of these attacks, the union representing San Francisco’s County Deputy sheriffs demanded assistance Saturday from the California National Guard to solve a critical staffing shortage in the county’s jails.”

Adding, “This weekend, the Sheriff’s Office put both County Jail #2 in downtown San Francisco and County Jail #3 in San Bruno on lockdown, putting all visits, programs, and services at those locations on hold. In a release, the Sheriff’s Office said normal operations at the jails would resume next week, but didn’t specify exactly when.”

Ken Lomba, the president of the San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs’ Association, has since spoken out on the matter, saying that since late March inmates have attacked deputy sheriffs nine separate times. 

Lomba then said, “On April 12th it was like the worst day in my history of the department, it just felt like the bottom just fell out of the department, cause of all of the attacks on deputies and the prisoner-on-prisoner fights.”

He then called on the National Guard to take action, adding, “Their presence is crucial to provide immediate relief and enhance the safety and security of our facilities for all personnel and inmates.” 

America’s prisons have become cesspits of recidivist career criminals

The horror stories that have emerged from the San Francisco prison system demonstrate just how deplorable many American prisons have become. 

Regardless of the policies put in place by Democrat lawmakers, career criminals have taken up residence in these prisons, inflicting terror and depravity on prison guards and law enforcement officials. 

However, many fear that opening the door for the National Guard to police prison systems could open the door for people who do not have extensive law enforcement training to step into a mess they are not prepared to deal with.
