Democrat-run cities are struggling.

And leadership has largely sat on its hands.

But one infuriating video caused the L.A. mayor to use one stunning word.

Pro-crime policies are tearing apart deep-blue cities.

District attorneys backed by George Soros have systematically allowed repeat criminals back on the streets by charging arrestees with lesser crimes or dropping charges altogether.

Even liberals have gotten fed up.

San Franciscans recalled communist prosecutor Chesa Boudin, but the man Boudin defeated in the San Francisco DA race, George Gascón took his show on the road to Los Angeles.

A standard that was not upheld in 2020

Liberals in Los Angeles attempted to recall Gascón, but he survived the effort on a signature verification technicality.

Worse yet, Los Angeles elected far-left Mayor Karen Bass, who narrowly defeated moderate Rick Caruso, a former Republican who supported Donald Trump in 2016.

But even Bass called a mob theft at a Nordstrom store “unacceptable.”

Somewhere between 20 and 50 suspects ransacked the store and stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a mall in the suburban Woodland Hills area.

In response to the infuriating crime, Bass said, “What happened today at the Nordstrom in the Topanga Mall is absolutely unacceptable. Those who committed these acts and acts like it in neighboring areas must be held accountable. The Los Angeles Police Department will continue to work to not only find those responsible for this incident but to prevent these attacks on retailers from happening in the future.”

But liberal leaders in these cities have only paid lip service to these crimes.

After a similar incident in San Francisco, Mayor London Breed commanded, “It is time for the reign of criminals who are destroying our city—it is time for it to come to an end. And it comes to an end when we take the steps to be more aggressive with law enforcement, more aggressive with the changes in our policies, and less tolerant of all the bullsh*t that has destroyed our city.”

Coincidentally, Nordstrom shut down both of its downtown San Francisco stores in part due to rampant crime in the area.

Flash mob robberies have become too commonplace because the penalty for getting caught is not severe.

Stopping a robber could even cost a store employee his or her job, as it did two employees at a Lululemon clothing store in Atlanta; they were allegedly fired for calling the police in the midst of the robbery against store policy.

Criminals have been given free rein to shoplift in blue cities, so the problem only gets worse.

There is no place for any other faith in the eyes of the Left.

The Left claim to be tolerant of others, but only if people align with their views.

And Leftism operates like a religion, which is why Leftism is so hostile toward other faiths, particularly Christianity.

Now a Catholic family in Massachusetts is being blocked from serving as foster parents because of their traditional religious views.

Mike and Catherine Burke are suing the state for denying their claim to be foster parents “due to their adherence to Catholic teachings on gender, sexuality, and marriage.”

The Burkes said, “After months of interviews and training, and after years of heartbreak, we were on the verge of finally becoming parents…We were absolutely devastated to learn that Massachusetts would rather children sleep in the hallways of hospitals than let us welcome children in need into our home.”

The state claimed that the Burkes “would not be affirming to a child who identified as LGBTQIA.”

Their rejection letter said that foster parents needed to promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of a child placed in his or her care, including supporting and respecting a child’s sexual orientation or gender identity.”

The Burkes turned to the religious liberty group Becket Law to represent them.

There’s a war on traditional families and values

Becket Law stated, “As faithful Catholics, the Burkes believe that all children should be loved and supported, and they would never reject a child placed in their home. They also believe that children should not undergo procedures that attempt to change their God-given sex, and they uphold Catholic beliefs about marriage and sexuality.”

The Left have become so beholden to the idea that boys can become girls and vice versa that they are willing to let kids suffer than have a home with traditional Catholics.

This is a clear indicator of how Progressivism has become a religion for liberals.

Progressivism supersedes everything else.

For instance, California is forwarding legislation that would favor the parent who “affirms” a child’s new gender over the parent who does not in custody disputes.

In some cases, parents are losing custody of their children because of their refusal to go along with radical gender ideology.

A young NYC girl charged in vicious on-camera attack

Incidents of violent crime in the Big Apple are sadly becoming more and more common.

The latest one gives the impression that violent offenders seem to be getting younger as well.

Now, a young NYC girl has been charged in a vicious on-camera attack.

Video of an attack on a Nevada mother recently went viral after she was violently attacked as she was riding a Manhattan train during a visit to New York City.

For some, the thug life starts early

Now a 16-year-old girl has been arrested after she allegedly assaulted a woman and harassed her family, as well as a bystander who recorded the incident, the New York Post reported.

The young assailant’s name wasn’t released because of her age but police say that the girl was arrested in Manhattan and has been charged with two counts of assault.

According to the NYPD, the suspect yelled at the victim and her family before charging at her and other passengers attempting to put a stop to the incident.

The victim Sue Young, a 51-years-young mother of twin daughters, was visiting as a tourist from Nevada.

The attack occurred as Young was riding the train with her husband and twin daughters, according to the Post.

According to NBC News, Young said in a statement following the news that “We all want her to be held accountable for her actions. Everybody deserves safety on the subway. But now the hard part begins. What is the appropriate intervention for this teen? We hope to come to an understanding with the other party, through a professionally mediated discussion, and we want the world to know about it.”

While police had reportedly been investigating the incident as a hate crime, Young, who is Asian, didn’t believe that race was a major factor in the attack, adding in her statement that she hoped to “decrease the racial tension.”

As Blue State Blues previously reported, the bystander Joanna Lin captured some of the incident and then was also confronted by the mob after they saw her recording the altercation.

Random attacks such as this one have become even more of a part of everyday life in New York City in recent years.

The age of the accused attackers seems to be getting younger and younger.

And the cashless bail laws and lax prosecution at the hands of a George Soros-funded District Attorney like Alvin Bragg haven’t helped matters.

Young might believe there is no easy fix to this problem.

But throwing the book at those who perpetrate such acts would be a good start.

Protecting innocent children should be a no-brainer, but all too often the most innocent are victimized.

When it is entirely preventable but continues because of petty political concerns, that’s all the more jarring.

In California, the age of sexual consent is 18.

Anyone over that age engaging in unlawful intercourse with a minor can be charged with statutory rape.

There’s a catch, though.

A tragic but fixable situation that requires political will

In California, unlawful sexual activity between an adult and a minor applies only if they are not married, and in the Golden State there is no minimum age requirement for marriage.

However there is a concerted effort underway to enact a ban on child marriage, but those efforts are seemingly being stymied by Left-wing groups, including Planned Parenthood, according to a recent report by Newsweek.

Other Leftist groups holding up the ban through their influence with the Democrat-controlled legislature include the Children’s Law Center and the American Civil Liberties Union.

Back in the 2000s, some conservative and Republican-aligned groups claimed that the legalization of gay marriage could have other, drastic consequences.

They were relentlessly mocked by Leftist groups for making a “slippery slope” argument.

But now, Left-wing groups are invoking the same “slippery slope” argument to justify child marriage.

The great Leftist concern is that an age requirement could impede a minor’s ability to seek an abortion.

Jennifer Wonnacott, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood California affiliates told the Los Angeles Times, “[The group] strongly supports protecting youth from abuse of all kinds but those protections should not impede on the reproductive rights of minors and their ability to decide what is best for them, their health and their lives.”

Victims of forced or child marriages are furious.

A group of dozens of them traveled to Sacramento last month to protest the current California law that allows child marriage.

To make their point, they reportedly wore wedding dresses with their wrists tied and mouths taped shut and demanded an end to the practice.

Fraidy Reiss is the founder of Unchained At Last, a nonprofit dedicated to ending forced and child marriages and strongly feels that the Leftist’s concerns don’t hold water.

Reiss said, “The idea that banning child marriage—a human rights abuse that destroys girls’ lives— might somehow undermine girls’ rights is preposterous. We at Unchained see again and again that child marriage survivors often lose all sexual and reproductive rights, repeatedly forced to have unprotected sex and forced to endure pregnancy, childbirth, and childrearing without their consent.”

Research from Unchained At Last found that 23,588 minors were married in California since 2000, making it the state with the second-highest number of child marriages behind Texas.

The state is expected to see another attempt to ban child marriage without exception early next year and it promises to be closely watched.

Businesses and residents are feeling the sting of crime run amok.

And store clerks who thwarted one thief heard stunning news from the mayor.

Thanks to Proposition 47 in California, shoplifting under $950 worth of merchandise is considered a nonviolent misdemeanor.

For that reason, cops barely enforce these crimes because the criminals do not face any real justice; far-left district attorneys will constantly dump them back on the streets to commit more crimes.

Enough is enough

Store employees, including security guards, are discouraged from engaging with thieves because of civil liability, and even criminal culpability.

However, two store clerks at a 7-Eleven in Stockton, California, recently got fed up with a brazen thief and beat him with a stick.

California Mayor douses cold water on calls for prosecution

Initially, there was talk that the clerks were being criminally investigated, but Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln, a Republican, ensured the public that the clerks were not being criminally charged.

Lincoln announced in a statement, “The events surrounding the viral video from the 7-11 on Center St. are under active investigation by Stockton PD. Once completed, Stockton PD will forward the case to the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney’s Office is the agency that charges individuals concerning crimes alleged. In a statement released by the District Attorney’s Office today, DA Freitas expressed that ‘the store clerks are not and have never been suspects’ of the DA’s Office and ‘Any investigation going forward is to hold accountable the individual who threatened and attempted to rob the store clerks.’ California state law, Proposition 47, hinders businesses daily by increasing shoplifting incidents and decreasing our law enforcement’s ability to hold accountable those responsible for such acts. These kinds of California state laws continue to impact communities. We will continue to monitor this incident through the judicial process.”

The tide could be turning against lawlessness in the state.

Many businesses, particularly in the Bay Area, have thrown in the towel and left California altogether.

Even CNN is reporting on the rampant crime in the area.

CNN senior correspondent Kyung Lah explained, “In San Francisco, we went to the Walgreens that is the #1 spot for theft in all the 9000 US stores, per Walgreens. This is where chains once shut the freezer section. And we saw 3 thefts right in front of us. But across SF, coffee, mustard, nail polish — are all locked up.”

When CNN even stops sweeping the results of the pro-crime policies under the rug, the problems are reaching critical levels.

New York is thousands of miles from America’s southern border with Mexico, yet the Empire State is reeling from the immigration crisis.

This is largely due to a number of policies in New York, which sanction illegal immigration.

Namely, New York is a so-called sanctuary state, meaning that illegal aliens can not be arrested by state officials solely for their immigration status.

Due to their support of illegal immigration, several red state governors have bussed migrants to New York, which has infuriated officials in the state.

One such official is none other than New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who went on Spectrum News NY1’s “Inside City Hall” to discuss immigration concerns, among other issues.

When addressing illegal immigration, Hochul said “We’ve got a real challenge on our hands, and we do not want to have people having to be in the streets of New York. I literally sat down with the mayor once again this morning, talked to him last night. We are joined together in solving this. First of all, it is a federal problem. People are coming here because of the border situation and people’s desire to seek asylum.”

She added, “But what is the missing link here, Errol—and this could change everything—if we could get legal work status, temporary protected status, for example, people coming from, let’s say, Venezuela, treat them as if we treat—as we treat the people from Afghanistan and Ukraine and Cuba and Haiti. They have an expedited work process opportunity.”

Democrats are learning the hard way that open borders have their consequences

For years, states that are nowhere near the southern border like New York have opened the door to illegal aliens.

But now that they are arriving in droves, the tune has changed quite a bit.

It appears that Democrats do not actually want more immigrants, instead, they are only interested in appeasing their radical base.

As Hochul points out, change is needed on the federal level, which has practically encouraged illegal immigration in recent years.

Civil rights attorney cranked up the pressure on prosecutor in 7-11 clerks case

Recently two Sikh convenience store clerks made headlines with an effort that put future would-be thieves in their California town on notice.

The video of their response to a brazen attack on their livelihoods has leftists in full meltdown.

Now this civil rights attorney cranked up the pressure on the prosecutor in the 7-11 clerks case.

Thieves are regularly raiding California retailers these days.

In fact, a recent video captured 9 thieves running out of the Century City Mall with $900,000 in loot.

A mildly interested security guard followed them, apparently using his phone to report the incident.

With plenty of pro-crime district attorneys in power, that’s business as usual these days.

But recently two 7-11 clerks made headlines when they decided they were beyond fed up with one repeat offender.

A video blew up online showing the two clerks working over the robber after he’d collected a garbage can full of merchandise.

Public pressure on DA mounted quickly over the investigation 

Now a Los Angeles civil rights attorney is calling out the local district attorney for failing to deal with the problem before the convenience store clerks were put into the position of standing their ground.

“The lack of any type of police response, lack of any type of government response to crime is resulting in vigilantism,” attorney and Fox News contributor Leo Terrell explained. “And this is what’s happening right now because people are tired of being attacked, robbed and basically assaulted.”

Terrell pointed toward the numerous pro-crime policies pushed by Democrats as a major driver in the declining conditions in the blue state.

Following the incident speculation on the Left swirled around whether the clerks should have been held punished for beating the criminal.

But Terrell wasn’t buying that nonsense.

“Who’s at fault? Very simply, the criminal,” he pointed out.

“Look how relaxed he is. That’s the Democratic law in California where the criminal is the victim because, you know, ‘the system is racist’,” Terrell snarked before pointing out the DA’s role in that incident.

He argued that San Joaquin District Attorney is falling down on the job and he should “have that criminal in jail right now – because he did this not just once, but twice.”

One thing is for sure, the footage of that robbery attempt is sure to make other would-be thieves think twice before they target a 7-11.
