The country’s educational system has been captured by the radical Left.
Even small-town America isn’t safe from this disturbing trend.
And a high school tried to drop the hammer on a patriotic student for this insane reason.
An Indiana high school student was threatened with being written up for insubordination by the school’s administration for having an American flag on his truck.
17-year-old East Central High School senior Cameron Blasek affixed a full-size American flag to the back of his pickup truck to show his patriotism.
“The flag itself represents this country, this beautiful country that we live in,” Blasek told WCPO. “It also represents the people who fought their lives for it. And I think that’s a really hard thing to talk about, but I think it’s a big thing.”
High school threatens student to remove American flag
Blasek having an American flag on his truck didn’t sit well with the officials at East Central High School in St. Leon, Indiana.
His counselor and vice principal told him that he needed to remove the flag or that he would be written up.
Blasek refused to remove the flag much to their chagrin.
He said that his truck’s flag follows the U.S. Flag Code and that it wasn’t a violation of the high school’s rules.
“I read through the Essentials 2023-2024 Handbook, and the word ‘flag’ wasn’t even mentioned in the parking lot or driving section. The only section it’s mentioned in is the flag-twirling section,” Blasek explained.
He said he also looked into Indiana state law.
School officials told them they could enforce a rule on a case-by-case basis about the truck’s flag.
“Well, he’s like, ‘The school has a right to request that you remove the flag off the back of your vehicle.’ I said, ‘You’re right.’ I said, ‘The school does have a right to request that, but since it’s just a request, a request means that you’re not demanding or telling me that I have to. So, I’m going to decline your request,'” Blasek said.
Blasek said that he never figured out what the school official’s issue was with his flag.
Students stand up to anti-American school officials
After refusing to back down, Blasek got a show of support from his fellow students.
They showed up at the school with flags on their vehicles.
Cameron Blasek was told by East Central High School (@EastCentralHS) to remove the American flag from his truck.
The next day dozens of students showed up with American flags on their cars to stand with him!

“I was kind of shocked,” Blasek said about the support from his classmates. “I’m like, ‘Holy cow, everybody’s got flags.’ I wasn’t expecting any of that but I thought it was kind of cool seeing everybody come together like that.”
The story had gone viral on social media and the pressure was on the school to fold.
Former President Donald Trump received nearly 77% of the vote in the county where the school is located.
“After careful consideration and in recognition of the importance of the US flag as a symbol of unity and national identity, I am pleased to inform you that we are allowing the display of the US flag by students in the East Central High School parking lot,” East Central Principal Tom Black said.
Even a simple act of patriotism has become controversial in the increasingly anti-American government school system.
