The far left knows that it is losing the argument with the broader public on illegal immigration.
Rather than accepting that a majority of the public wants to see this phenomenon curtailed, they are lashing out.
Now, Pramila Jayapal just had the most ridiculous take ever on the debate over illegal immigration.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) is one of the most radical members of Congress.
Safely ensconced in her midnight blue district, she’s never met a leftist policy that she didn’t champion.
Jayapal has never been keen on immigration enforcement, and in 2019 she let her radicalism show with a call to pay reparations to families separated at the border.
But the congresswoman truly had a “jump the shark” moment this week.
As background to this, a tragic story made national news in recent days where an illegal alien from Ecuador called Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi was recently arrested in New York City for raping two 13-year-old children.
He crossed the border illegally three years ago and never showed up for any hearings.
Jayapal’s reaction says everything about her priorities
Jayapal appeared on the far-left MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” with host Joy Reid and the subject came up.
Rather than expressing outrage at what had occurred, Jayapal was instead dismayed.
Reid said, “This is one of the reasons that people have this sort of thinking: Here’s the three cable networks’ reporting of this. Our banner said, ‘Soon: Biden Announces Legal Protections for Undocumented Spouses of U.S. Citizens.’ CNN’s banner said, ‘Biden Announcing New Protections for Some Undocumented Spouses.’ Here was Fox’s banner, ‘Migrant Arrested for Raping 13-Year-Old New York City Girl.’ And so, I think that’s part of the problem, right? Is that you have a lot of fearmongering.”
Jayapal then laughed and said, “Yes. Exactly, That’s part of the problem. And we know that when people have economic insecurity, when they’re facing high childcare costs, when they’re facing high housing costs, they are concerned for themselves.”
So, Reid and a sitting U.S. Congresswoman don’t believe hordes of illegal aliens being welcomed into this country by the Biden administration is a problem.
Reid and Rep. Jayapal are even dismissing the increase of illegal aliens committing heinous crimes.
Instead, they believe the real problem is the rare occasion where media outlets actually report the barbaric acts to the public.
Jayapal continued, “Anybody who comes into a space of that economic insecurity and says, hey, why are these people getting something that you’re not getting? It does turn people against those people, whether they agree or don’t agree that they have — that they’re helping the country.”
The far left can’t sell their radicalism
While this “hot take” by the far-left congresswoman and the even more radical cable show host is downright infuriating, normies everywhere can take solace that the public is rejecting their worldview.
According to a recent CBS poll, fully 62% of respondents favored deporting “all” illegal immigrants from the U.S.
This includes a majority of men, women, independents, conservatives, moderates, Republicans, individuals with a four-year college degree, those without a college education, and people over 30 years of age, according to the survey’s findings.
The more that elected officials do the bidding of Jayapal and Reid, the less likely those officials are to be reelected.
As awful as it may seem, the best-case scenario might just be to invite the radicals to keep right on talking.
