Horror stories are emerging from the Middle East by the hour.
And as war rages in Gaza, a wave of antisemitism is rolling over university campuses.
Now what happened to Jewish students in this American school will shake you to the core.
What happened inside a private university in New York City’s East Village would be unbelievable if it weren’t caught on video.
But video captured by a Cooper Union student reveals exactly what happened when she was barricaded inside the school library with about 50 other Jewish students.
“Cooper Union sophomore Taylor Roslyn Lent is reassessing reality Thursday, a day after she and other Jewish students were locked inside the East Village university library as pro-Palestinian protesters pounded on doors and windows,” the New York Post reported. “Lent, 20, said she and roughly 50 other students were barricaded inside the library after a staffer at the private college locked a door as protesters stormed past security.”
“I can say that I felt unsafe and unprotected,” Lent, added. “I would like the university to admit what went on and not avoid the topic. I was shocked that I was experiencing this at my private university — in America — in 2023.”
According to police the pro-Palestine protestors blasted through a security check point to access the building without scanning their ID cards.
Video played on Fox News showed the protestors harassing students and pounding on the metal library doors which had been locked by a Cooper Union staffer.
The protesters could also be heard marching back and forth taunting the students through the library’s massive glass windows.
Lent explained that the mob was “calling for the murder of Jews.”
The Lawfare Project’s senior counsel, Gerard Filitti, warned that the situation is quickly reaching a tipping point.
“We’re seeing what has transpired go from microaggressions and systemic Jew hatred to what is now overt support for foreign terrorist organizations and people chanting slogans of designated foreign terrorist organizations,” he said. “What we are seeing next is outright and overt violence, and that is the danger.”
Lent also acknowledged that she believes free speech is important, but that the situation seems to be disintegrating rapidly.
“Personally, I don’t feel threatened by pro-Palestinian rallies or anything in that sense,” Lent explained. “Everyone has their own right to be doing that, but I definitely did feel threatened when there were chants calling for the murder of Jews being chanted at me from my fellow students.”
Unfortunately, big blue cities are starting to look a lot less like America and a lot more like a war zone orchestrated by the Left.
