In today’s world, having a lot of money is not enough for many young people.
Many Gen Z’ers who find success also have a compulsive desire to gloat about it, using social media to flaunt their every move and purchase.
But, TV-watchers could not believe their eyes after reports of this robbery spread.
This high-profile robbery has young people rethinking their social media habits
Reality TV remains as popular as ever, and MTV’s Siesta Key reigns supreme as one of television’s most popular programs.
Siesta Key, which has aired for 5 seasons, follows the daily lives of a collection of eclectic young people who live lavish lives that many young people can only dream of having.
One of Siesta Key’s biggest stars is Sam Logan, who recently made headlines after purchasing a $13 million home in Miami Beach using cash.
However, Logan’s good fortune took a turn for the worse last Thursday after the reality television star was robbed in his own home.
According to police, a man named Diego Sebastiani Estrada allegedly waited inside Logan’s mansion until he got home on Thursday, and once Logan arrived, Estrada ambushed Logan and his guests at gunpoint.
Estrada robbed one guest of a Rolex watch valued at $40,000, and a gold chain from another guest, and then stole a Range Rover from a third guest, which he used as a getaway vehicle.
It is believed that Estrada tracked Sam Logan’s movements using social media, allowing him to know exactly where Logan was and when he would get home.
Ultimately, police found Estrada the following day after tracking the GPS unit in the stolen Range Rover.
Fortunately, none of the victims were harmed physically. Estrada was charged with a number of felonies, including home invasion with a firearm and grand theft auto.
Miami Beach Police spokesman Christopher Bess issued a statement regarding the robbery, saying, “Be careful what you post on social media, who you follow, and who follows you.”
He added, “The subject knew exactly who he was looking for and what he was looking for as well.”
Out-of-control crime has ravaged nearly every community across the nation
From Seattle to Siesta Key, crime has ravaged nearly every community across the nation.
In the case of Sam Logan, Diego Sebastiani Estrada allegedly had the ability to track him down to the minute, and felt emboldened to steal a massive amount of property from the man in his own home.
Although this particular crime is more grandiose than usual, it represents the crime wave that has engulfed the entire nation.
On the West Coast in particular, businesses are closing left and right, leading to thousands of layoffs and millions of revenue loss in both sales and taxes.
Logan’s story emphasizes the need for more crime control, and the use of caution when it comes to posting on social media.
