The Democratic Party is being overtaken by the lunatic fringe.
There is almost no line Democrats will not cross.
And this left-wing governor just took a radical step to advocate for violence against conservatives.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has been a disaster ever since taking over for the scandal-ridden Andrew Cuomo who resigned in disgrace.
And Hochul is creating scandals of her own with incredibly radical statements.
Hochul took radical step to advocate for violence against conservatives despite a recent attempt on her opponent’s life
Hochul essentially dehumanized Republicans in the state and told them to leave New York.
During an event, Hochul said of the 5.4 million Republicans in the state, “We’re here to say that the era of Trump and Zeldin and Molinaro – just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong. Get out of town,” adding “You are not New Yorkers.”
In contrast, Cuomo tried to beg people to come back to the state when he was governor.
He said, “I literally talk to people all day long who are now in their Hamptons house who also lived here, or in their Hudson Valley house, or in their Connecticut weekend house and I say, ‘You got to come back! We’ll go to dinner! I’ll buy you a drink! Come over, I’ll cook!’”
Hochul later defended her comments and claimed they were meant for her opponent, Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., in the gubernatorial race.
Zeldin was recently attacked on stage by a man with a knife during a stump speech after Hochul’s campaign urged her supporters to show up at Zeldin events.
That dangerous rhetoric aside, telling 5.4 million voters to get on a bus and leave the state is an insane move politically, and also financially.
Comments dangerous physically and financially
The New York Post reported that “if you can move beyond the frankly disgusting political partisanship and intolerance, her message is fiscally irresponsible, even dangerous. The governor probably already knows this, but the state’s extensive public sector is heavily reliant on personal income taxes paid by residents, and with nearly $14 billion in projected budget gaps over the next five years, it can’t afford to lose any taxpayers, let alone 5.4 million of them. The Empire State has already lost 1.5 million residents in the past decade, and there’s no sign of that trend letting up. In fact, more than 350,000 New Yorkers relocated during the 12 pandemic-plagued months leading up to July 1, 2021.”
Democrats have bought into the belief that they can be as radical as they want in terms of rhetoric and policy, and suffer no consequences.
But every city and state has a breaking point.
For example, Detroit was once an economic powerhouse, but Democratic politicians killed the proverbial goose that laid the golden egg.
Hochul has even forgotten the history of her own state.
New York City was on the brink of collapse in the 1970s thanks to Big Government and Big Labor, and had to be bailed out by the federal government.
Democrats like Hochul are playing with fire by demonizing such a sizable portion of the population.
