Crime continues to spiral out of control in blue cities across the US.
And that has many parts of the US starting to feel like a hostile region in some third world country.
That was certainly the vibe some State Fair visitors got when they suddenly found themselves in a church parking lot war zone.
A food festival at the Washington State Fair drew a crowd of locals who left feeling lucky to be alive.
According to local news outlets, a dozen vehicles in a church parking lot ended up sprayed with bullets.
The church parking lot was evidently serving as overflow parking for people attending the food festival.
According to police, one innocent bystander—a woman in a yard across the street—was shot in the leg.
Another man told Seattle television station KOMO that he’s lucky he didn’t become another victim of the wild parking lot battle.
Seattle problems hitting other towns
Robert Ryding was one of the dozen drivers who came back to the parking lot to find bullet holes in their vehicles and he’s lucky his friend persuaded him to go to the event rather than stay in his car.
“She invited me to this food tasting thing that they have here. First time I’d heard about it. I was going to sit in the car and wait for her, but she persisted on me going inside,” he said. “If I would’ve sat out here any longer, one of us would’ve probably got hit by one of those things (bullets).”
Based on what he found in his vehicle, chances are he could have suffered a fatal injury.
“One hit the fender. It looks like one went through the window and hit the front windshield and bounced into the dash, so it’s probably stuck in the dash,” Ryding explained. “There was a piece on my center console, like a solid round, so I gave it to the officer.”
Not long ago, that type of scenario would have been unthinkable in all but the absolute worst sections of urban areas.
But criminal activity is flaring up all across the nation as police departments struggle with severe staffing shortages following the upheaval caused by 2020’s Black Lives Matter riots and the ensuing “Defund the Police” movement.
More law-abiding Americans seek training to protect themselves
As a result, an increasing number of Americans—especially women—are training themselves to use firearms for self-defense.
In fact, the Heritage Foundation compiled a list of news articles showing that over a two-week period this summer, more than a dozen women used firearms to protect themselves and their families.
No doubt, that trend is sure to continue as George-Soros backed District Attorneys continue to push pro-crime policies that embolden criminals and increase the chances of incidents like that wild church parking lot shootout.
