The political Left played the race card so often they’ve worn it out.
But their next move was so hypocritical your jaw will be on the floor.
And the woke mob is bent on tearing down this business for one unhinged reason.
In the words of her home country press an “extraordinary row” has erupted in New York City after one Australian native decided to bring a taste of home with her to the Big Apple.
Alex Marks opened “Sushi Counter” on the West Side in early October and before her new business even had a chance to get off the ground, she found herself the unfortunate target of the Woke Mob.

The businesswoman was hoping for some attention when she started offering her “teriyaki chicken, spicy tuna, and avocado and cucumber” sushi rolls to the public.
But she never imagined she would end up getting bullied online by Leftists simply because she’s white.
The ugly one-star reviews started pouring in after North Carolina Chef Eric Rivera, whose parents are from Puerto Rico, accused Marks of being a “colonizer” and practicing cultural appropriation.
When her shop first popped up it was hailed for offering an affordable option for locals with sushi priced at $5 a roll, but even her pricing came under fire by Rivera’s followers.
“The contradiction & cognitive dissonance is maddening,” X Queer Latifah wrote. “[Marks] feels she can’t ‘afford’ decent sushi in NYC, a place that has one of the largest & vastly diverse Asian populations? So instead, she finances her own sushi spot. Colonisation is white & quite scary to see in real time.”
“The last thing anyone needs are blonde hair, Australian white women appropriating Japanese cuisine,” another wrote. “We’re sick of the disrespect inflicted upon our cultures by white people, enough is enough.”
Of course, the woman offering her take on Aussie-style sushi hails from a country that’s more than 90% white.
And Rivera and his followers weren’t the only leftists crying about the Aussie lass’ sushi spot.

Ironically, the Woke Mob’s racist attacks may pay off for Marks in the end.
Culture wars heavy hitters come to cute Aussie sushi spot owners defense
Her defenders include political commentator Matt Walsh.
“As a sane person myself I can’t fathom how anyone could conjure those kinds of emotions in relation to a sushi restaurant,” Walsh explained via the Daily Wire.
“The first and most obvious thing is that this deranged standard is only ever applied to white people and would never – and has never – gone the other way,” he added. “You’ll never hear of a pizza place being bombarded with negative reviews because it’s owned by an Asian guy. Or a burger joint being protested because it’s run by a Hispanic woman.”
Once Marks’ plight became widely known others came to her defense pushing her one-star Google reviews rating up to 4.5 stars.
Ironically, the instigator, Rivera, had to tuck tail and run after it was revealed that he sells homemade pasta and has plans to open his own Puerto Rican-Japanese fusion restaurant.
