Far-left run cities have become overrun by criminal activity in recent years due to mismanagement.
While politicians prefer soft-on-crime policies, the regular folks in the cities suffer, particularly the most vulnerable populations.
And a Louisiana teen was convicted in this deadly attack on a grandmother.
New Orleans is a city full of vibrant culture and rich heritage.
Unfortunately, it’s also extremely dangerous in places, particularly at night and away from the areas frequented by tourists.
The city is a tourist hotspot but it’s a dangerous place
According to neigborhoodscout.com, the city has a crime rate of 61 per one thousand residents.
That makes New Orleans have one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes from the smallest towns to the very largest cities.
The chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 16.
Crime has been on the increase lately and it’s been due to the lax prosecutions by George Soros-backed District Attorney Jason Williams.
Williams himself was the victim of a carjacking at gunpoint in October, along with his mother.
At the time, Williams’ office spokesperson said of the incident in an interview with local TV station Fox 8, “”DA Williams and his mother were unharmed, and both thank the [New Orleans Police Department] for their hard work tonight and every night responding to crime victims.”
But the city’s crime streak has claimed another victim and the person primarily responsible has just been convicted.
Back in 2022, a 73-year-old woman called Linda Frickey was killed when she was carjacked by a teenage boy and three teenage girls.
The girls later pleaded guilty to reduced charges.
An unbelievably vicious attack caught on camera
In a horrific attack, at the time of the incident, the young man beat the elderly woman to try and remove her from the vehicle.
He eventually shoved her out, but in doing so, her arm became tangled in the seatbelt and she was dragged along the pavement.
The grandmother’s arm was eventually torn from her body.
A YouTube clip shows the teens surrounding the vehicle and jumping inside.
Neighbors recalled in horror the moment the crime occurred.
One neighbor told WWLTV, “I just started screaming and running because I just wanted to get this person from this car, and if I could do that I could help this person.”
But now, family members of the victim are finally getting some belated justice.
The teenage boy, John Honore, who was the leader of the attack, was sentenced to life in prison on Friday.

Frickey’s sister Jinnylynn Griffin told the New York Post, “He’s a little jerk, he’s a little punk, and he deserves to go where he is going. He is a demon, and God saw that demon that day, and that’s how Linda’s arm got severed. We put away the demons now. And the future demons, they better look out because the DA’s office is not playing anymore.”
In the end it appears that while a family and community will be forever scarred by the terrible events of two years ago, at least a vicious thug got what he deserved and will be off the streets.
