But Florida’s Governor had other travel plans with conservative Americans more concerned about the threat to the country’s future spill out of blue state policies and politicians.
So Ron DeSantis took his war on Disney on the road to embarrass Gavin Newsom.
All across the nation, politicians are finding new and creative ways to make life miserable for freedom-loving Americans.
But more and more conservatives say they know where the biggest challenges the country faces are emanating from – blue states.

In stark contrast to what Governor Ron DeSantis has done in Florida, since Gavin Newsom became Governor of California, the Golden State has lost its luster for more and more citizens.
Not only is Florida’s economy booming, but Florida recovered from the pandemic and recent natural disasters at record speed, even as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Florida Republicans refused to bend the knee for the woke political demands of one the states’ biggest employers – Disney.
That’s not something you’d expect in California on the other hand where woke special interests lobbies run roughshod over the state’s citizens.
The people of California could use a break from it all and Ron DeSantis apparently recognized that – eschewing the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C. recently to speak to beleaguered Californians about saving their state and the country.
And he pulled no punches when it came to California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom.
At an event at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley last Sunday, DeSantis said “Your Governor’s very concerned about what we’re doing in Florida so I figured I had to come by.”
He added “We’ve witnessed a great American exodus from states run by leftist politicians, and we’ve seen massive gains in states like Florida who are governing in accordance to the tried and true principles that President Reagan held dear.”
Gavin Newsom has not yet responded to these digs.
If California does not change its extreme far-left policies, then it could drag the rest of the country down with it.
That’s especially true if Gavin Newsom ends up as Democrats pick to replace Joe Biden and the GOP fails to nominate someone focused on the future who can beat them.
