It all started in Virginia last fall.
But the movement has gone national, reaching places you’d never expect.
Now parents outraged over this woke school administration made their voices heard even in this far-left city.
Tuesday was Election Day in deep blue San Francisco and there, three school board members were facing a recall by angry parents.
The parents have been upset because the school board members decided to push progressive politics instead of acting in the best interest of children during the pandemic.
Part of the anger stemmed from the fact that the schools were closed – ostensibly due to the pandemic – for months longer than in nearby districts.
Also, even as students were forced into “distance learning,” the board found time to act on their woke priorities as they renamed 44 schools – even those named for Presidents such as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, who were said to embody “white supremacy.”
So, the crux of the matter is that recall efforts were driven by the board’s refusal to re-open schools while leftist members chose to focus on renaming “racist” schools instead of handling the crisis.
Now, in a full-scale parental revolt, the only three school board members with a long enough tenure to be recalled were shown the door by the voters.
The vote wasn’t even close.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “The landslide decision means board President Gabriela López and members Alison Collins and Faauuga Moliga will officially be removed from office and replaced by mayoral appointments 10 days after the election is officially accepted by the Board of Supervisors.”
Even the leftist Mayor, London Breed, could tell which way the political winds are blowing.
In a statement, Breed said, “The voters of this city have delivered a clear message that the school board must focus on the essentials of delivering a well-run school system above all else. San Francisco is a city that believes in the value of big ideas, but those ideas must be built on the foundation of a government that does the essentials well.”
There has been a slew of surprisingly sane reversals on school policy in left-wing enclaves in recent weeks after well over a year of draconian measures in the wake of COVID.
Blue state Governors are waking up to the fact that mask mandates – especially for kids in schools – are highly unpopular.
The clock is also ticking ahead of the midterm elections, and for most of these politicians, self-preservation takes precedence over all else.
