As it stands, just about every single community is completely overwhelmed with crime.

This is especially true in Democrat-controlled cities, which have seen a steady increase in crime over the past several years.

But Lori Lightfoot left these horrified parents scrambling for answers after the unthinkable happened on the Democrat’s watch.

Democrats have completely ruined the once-great city of Chicago

Many years ago, Chicago was considered to be one of the greatest cities on earth.

But, after decades of Democrat control, Chicago has descended into a state of chaos and ruin.

However, what just happened in the streets of Chicago may be one of the most shocking crimes to happen there in a while.

Last Sunday night at about 11 P.M., a 26-year-old man by the name of Pherris Harrington carjacked a couple in downtown Chicago.

To make matters worse, the couple’s young child was still inside the vehicle when he took off.

Harrington did not go far though after crashing into several vehicles before fleeing the car on foot.

Chicago police were able to find Harrington after a brief manhunt, and when emergency personnel responded, Harrington assaulted the responding officer and paramedic.

Harrington was eventually charged with felony counts of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated vehicular hijacking.

He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of battery, possession of ammunition without a valid firearm owner’s identification card, obstructing a peace officer, and leaving the scene of an accident.

This crime spree was particularly shocking for all of the obvious reasons, but the sad truth is, carjackings have become a part of everyday life for the people of Chicago.

According to data from the Chicago Police Department, vehicle thefts are up 92% throughout the city of Chicago over the last year alone.

And across the nation, car thefts are up by a similar amount.

Why crime has risen so much in so little time

Despite what pro-crime Democrats like Lori Lightfoot claim, crime is not some Republican talking point.

Crime is through the roof, and the numbers do not lie.

The reason for these massive spikes in crime are pretty simple, and that reason is the pro-crime policies radical Democrats have passed in recent years.

In most major cities across the nation, it is now virtually impossible to hold career criminals in prison where they belong.

Liberals instead favor a policy that allows even the most hardened criminals to get off with little to no punishment, all in the name of “social justice”.

There is absolutely nothing “just” about what Democrats have done to America.

Now innocent Americans are afraid to leave their homes in fear of being attacked, robbed, or raped.

Hopefully Pherris Harrington will face serious, long-lasting consequences for the evil actions he committed.
