Crooked District Attorneys have been letting bad guys off the hook in blue cities across America.
But in a stunning turn of events, an elected official was now charged with federal crimes.
And in the process she’s embarrassing Kamala Harris in a big way.
Baltimore prosecutor Marilyn Mosby was indicted last week on federal perjury charges for lying on loan applications.
Mosby is in all kinds of trouble since she hasn’t paid federal taxes for several years, lied when applying for home loans, and dishonestly used a “second-home rider” for one home, which allowed her to get a lower interest rate.
She also used funds pulled from her retirement account early due to a COVID related “hardship” to help purchase two homes in Florida.
Mosby made a brief public statement on Friday claiming to be innocent, but she refused to take any questions from reporters.
She’s up for election this year and wants the “citizens, who I am blessed to serve, to know that I am innocent of the charges that have been levied against me, and I intend to fight to prove my innocence and clear my name.”
Of course, as Kamala Harris’ protégé she’s pro-crime and 100% focused on implementing “woke” principles rather than actually doing her job.
“There would be no Marilyn Mosby without Kamala Harris,” she once said. “She’s a bold, brilliant, beautiful black woman.”
Unfortunately, Kamala not only inspired her to run for office as a prosecutor, but Mosby then imitated Harris’ past work in California by implementing similar pro-crime policies.
And, while Mosby’s obsession with Harris is weird, it wasn’t a one-sided thing.
Before Harris was even Vice President she actually campaigned for Mosby and helped her land the job that pays $248,000 a year.
“When we march and we shout about what we need to do to reform the criminal justice system, we better understand that we gotta march and shout with our paychecks,” Harris told a crowd at a fundraiser for Mosby in Los Angeles back in 2017.
At the time, Harris also complained that there are “a lot of people who are highly critical” of the Baltimore prosecutor.
“She cannot fail and I know she will not fail,” Harris said.
Mosby is best known nationwide for her push to prosecute six cops over the death of Freddy Gray, which left Baltimore rioting.
Ultimately, Mosby lost that case.
