The current Commander-in-Chief seems to have missed his calling as a fiction author.
Now White House staff have a whole lot of explaining to do.
And Joe Biden’s latest whopper just set the internet on fire.
Joe Biden’s tales from the olden days are invariably epic, if somewhat difficult to swallow.
But his latest tall tale is based on events so recent he got called out almost instantly.
Biden was trying to sell “Bidenomics” as a positive when he went off on a tangent that more than likely had his staffers biting their nails.
The President was speaking at a wind turbine manufacturer when he started rambling about bridges.
A Three Rivers tale
“A lot of you were with me when I was in Pittsburgh,” he told his audience. “By the way, Pittsburgh is a city of bridges — more bridges in Pittsburgh than any other city in America.”
He then went on to make a wild assertion about a bridge in Pittsburgh that collapsed last year.
“I watched that bridge collapse,” he asserted. “I got there and saw it collapse with over 200 feet off the ground going over a valley. It collapsed. Thank God school was out during the pandemic.”
In reality, the bridge he was referring to collapsed at 7:00 a.m. on January 28, 2022.
Six hours later, Biden landed for a pre-scheduled visit and visited the bridge collapse site at 1:00 p.m. that day.
Of course, by 2022 Pittsburg schools were back in session following the 2020 pandemic.
Biden’s blatant lies garnered all kinds of reactions online.
“Incredible how often he lies,” Hunter Mahan, a professional golfer noted.
“Another day another lie,” sports commentator Dan Dakich wrote. “Why is this tolerated?”
Even the leftists at CNN piled on with a searing article.
Writer Daniel Dale detailed not one, but three “false personal anecdotes” in his economic speech.
Truth goes under on Biden’s City of Bridges claim
In addition to the bridge tale, Biden also produced “another rendition of the Amtrak story.”
That’s an old tale about a supposed encounter with a late Amtrak conductor Angelo Negri when Biden was Vice President.
In this retelling “Ang”, his nickname for Negri, “comes up and goes, ‘Joey, baby,’ and grabs my cheek.”
Biden claimed he thought his Secret Service detail was going to shoot Negri.
“And I said, ‘No, no, no, no.’” Biden explained. “‘What’s the matter, Ang?’ He said, ‘We just – I read this thing about… over a million miles on Air Force planes.’ He said, ‘Hell, you know how many miles you traveled on Amtrak?’ I said, ‘No, Ang. I don’t know.’ He said, ‘We just had a retirement dinner up in Newark.’ He said, ‘You traveled a hundred – an average 117 days a year, round trip, 300 miles a day, 36 years. That’s 1,285,000 miles. I don’t want to hear any more about the Air Force!’”
While Biden finished up with “True story, I swear to God,” even CNN isn’t buying that load of goods.
For one thing, by the time Biden had racked up a million miles of travel as Vice President, Negri had already passed away.
Furthermore, Biden claimed the incident occurred when he was traveling home to visit his sick mother, however she had passed away five years prior.
And the icing on the cake? Biden even used his stage time to claim that “unlike the last president, in my first two years in office, even with all we’ve done – I’m the first one to cut the federal debt by $1 trillion…$700 billion.”
Of course, Biden has spent his entire presidency on a wild spending spree that’s been doing nothing but loading down the nation’s balance sheet.
It seems the current Commander-in-Chief is too busy dealing in fictions of his own self-attributed legendary status to maintain a handle on reality.
