Democrats are a strange bunch these days, almost possessing a hive mind.
Step out of line on any issue and the leftist mob will show you no mercy.
Nevertheless, Joe Biden got blindsided by this defection in a must-win state for Democrats in 2024.
Minneapolis, Minnesota has fallen a long way in recent years.
The riots of 2020, following the death of George Floyd in the city showed that.
But one of the area’s Congressional representatives just signaled there may be hope for a change.
Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) just said in an interview what, up to this point, has been left unsaid by nearly all of his Democrat colleagues.
“They simply won’t f***ing say a word”
According to Phillips, there are literally hundreds of Democrat U.S. lawmakers who are extremely jittery about President Joe Biden being the party’s nominee heading into the 2024 presidential race, but they are too afraid to say anything.
Phillips said, “This is not a knock on Joe Biden, just a wish for competition. In the business world, if the dominant brand in a category had favorability ratings like the current president does, you would see a number of established brands jump into that category. Believe me, there are literally hundreds in Congress who would say the same thing. But they simply won’t f***ing say a word.”
Phillips seems to be simply voicing what many Democrats – not elected and with little to lose – happen to be telling pollsters.
Many recent national polls have shown that Democrat voters do not want Biden to be the party’s nominee again for reasons ranging from the poor economy to inflation run amok to foreign policy failures.
According to The Hill, “Just 37 percent of Democrats want President Biden to seek a second term in the White House, despite his stated intention that he plans to run in 2024, according to a new poll. An Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll found that the number of Americans who want to see Biden seek another four years in the Oval Office dropped from 52 percent shortly after last year’s midterm elections to just 37 percent this week.”
But the one thing that has been clearly on display in recent years is that Biden is extremely old and his advanced age and all that comes with it is patently obvious.
Another Oopsie
Just last week, Biden took another spill while climbing the stairs of Air Force One while on a visit to Europe.
The incident calls into question the President’s physician’s claims that, “a healthy, vigorous 80-year-old male who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief.”
But politics, just like in other realms, isn’t immune to the whims of those responsible for doing the electing – the voters.
If Biden can’t show that he’s up to the rigors required of a presidential campaign other elected Democrats will join Phillips in the call for more options because their constituents will demand it.
