Democrat-run cities have been stricken by mismanagement.
Liberal policies are shown to be a failure.
And an Iraqi cab driver made one shocking statement about Washington, D.C.
Pro-crime policies are making several deep-blue cities unlivable.
And Washington, D.C. is near the top of the list.
An Iraqi Uber driver named Omar Al-Furaiji, who had left his war-torn native country, had his car riddled with bullets in the middle of the trip.
Thankfully, neither he nor his passenger were hit.
Al-Furaiji had the misfortune of being caught in the middle of a gang-related drive-by shooting, a common occurrence in the district.
Trading down with move to D.C.
It’s ironic that Al-Furaiji left one war zone for another one.
He told reporters, “I thank God I survived. For some reason, God saved me. It’s not even a movie. It’s like time doesn’t exist.”
Al-Furaiji then pointed to a bullet hole in his windshield and said, “This is supposed to be my head, if I didn’t bend down or lay down.”
Two years ago in Washington, D.C., a 66-year-old Pakistani Uber Eats driver named Mohammad Anwar was murdered during a carjacking by teenage girls.
Crime has spiraled out of control in the District, prompting Councilmember Trayon White to conclude, “We are in a war zone.”
Washington, D.C. is at odds with “progressive” pro-crime policies.
Everyone knows the solution to the problem, but Democrats are unwilling to do it.
D.C. Police Chief Robert Contee III explained, “We need to keep violent people in jail. What we gotta do if we really want to see homicides go down is keep bad guys with guns in jail. Because when they are in jail, they can’t be in communities shooting people. So when people talk about what we’re gonna do differently or what we should do differently or what we need to do differently, that’s the thing that we need to do differently.”
But the Democrats now believe that “mass incarceration” is one of the biggest problems in the country, not violent criminals committing violent crimes.
The Left never wants to address the underlying cause of a societal problem.
They see racial disparities in prison populations, and their “fix” is to let criminals out of jail, not ensure that people don’t go to jail in the first place.
