Business owners are struggling to get by in Joe Biden’s economy.
Both small and large businesses are having a tough time keeping up with the rising cost of goods and out-of-control crime.
But hungry Californians are fed up after this major fast-food chain says enough is enough.
This legendary food franchise has officially given up on Oakland, California
Few restaurant chains have achieved the success that In-n-Out Burger has.
Not only does In-n-Out Burger make quality, tasty, and affordable food, but their customer service is widely regarded as top notch.
In-n-Out Burger has carved itself a spigot in California culture, having operated in the Golden State since 1948.
However, as a direct result of out-of-control crime, In-n-Out Burger just announced the closure of its only restaurant in the crime-ridden city of Oakland, California.
Per Chief Operating Officer Danny Warwick, “We are grateful for the local community, which has supported us for over 18 years, and we recognize that this closure negatively impacts our Associates and their families.”
He added, “Additionally, this location remains a busy and profitable one for the company, but our top priority must be the safety and wellbeing of our Customers and Associates – we cannot ask them to visit or work in an unsafe environment.”
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, nine robberies, two commercial burglaries, four domestic violence incidents and 1,174 car break-ins have occurred at this location alone in recent years.
Other businesses and establishments across the Bay Area, particularly in Oakland, have fled in recent years as well, similarly citing crime as the reason for their departure.
In the last decade alone, Oakland has lost three professional sports franchises including the Golden State Warriors, Oakland Raiders, and the Oakland Athletics, who could not get out of Oakland fast enough.
Businesses such as Rite Aid, Walgreens, and CVS, among others, have all fled Oakland as well.
Meanwhile, the Democrats who control Oakland with an iron fist are doing everything they can to keep businesses in Oakland.
Oakland City Council member Dan Kalb has even appealed to the FBI for help in mitigating crime in Oakland, saying last October that “We are now formally going to ask the federal government and we’re going to ask for Barbara Lee’s help here, a member of Congress to double the number of investigators the FBI sends to Oakland to help with investigations.”
Oakland has a long way to go before businesses will consider coming back
After decades of Democrat control, the city of Oakland has become a crime-ridden wasteland.
Crime, high taxes, and a high cost of living has repulsed businesses both big and small from the entire region.
Unless Oakland completely changes the way they run their city, more businesses are expected to flee in the coming years.
