When it comes to indoctrinating our kids, Democrats can’t seem to keep their stories straight.
Following election season backlash, many have been insisting Critical Race Theory (CRT) isn’t being used in government schools.
But the superintendent in one major city was caught bragging about his district’s CRT approach – and this one’s a doozy.
Detroit Superintendent Nikolai Vitti was caught on camera bragging that his schools are “deeply using Critical Race Theory.”
While the English majors are still trying to figure out how he came up with that wording, the rest of you are probably wondering if he missed the memo about how Democrats are trying to convince Republicans that there’s “nothing to see here.”
Perhaps Vitti is simply more honest than your average leftist.
Regardless, during a November 9 school board meeting he said, “Our curriculum is deeply using critical race theory, especially in social studies, but you’ll find it in English, language arts, and the other disciplines.”
Fox News noted he also said, “We’re very intentional about creating a curriculum, infusing materials, and embedding critical race theory within our curriculum.”
Lest you get confused and think Vitti is some sort of whistleblower, he followed up with his endorsement of the approach, “As was stated by speakers today, it’s because students need to understand the truth of history, understand the history of this country to better understand who they are and about the injustices that have occurred in this country.”
Considered a battleground state in 2020, Michigan has plenty of conservatives who won’t be falling over themselves in a hurry to thank Vitti for what he’s doing to steep students in leftist propaganda.
Members of the Michigan GOP approved a bill last month that would ban teaching “implicit race or gender stereotyping” in schools.
“A yes vote means taking a firm stance against the absurd claim that individuals bear collective guilt for historical wrongs committed by those who happen to share their race or their gender,” said Representative Andrew Beeler, a Republican from Fort Gratiot, according to a USA Today article.
“Today we either combat racism and sexism in our classrooms, or I believe we condemn ourselves to repeating the mistakes of the past.”
It seems likely there’s going to be quite a battle ahead in a state where Republicans control the House and Democrats run the Senate and Governor’s Office.
