Democrats and their leftist friends spent plenty of time lying ahead of election day last year.
Now Glenn Youngkin’s new education boss is cleaning up.
And in the process, she’s pulling back the curtain on Virginia Democrats’ biggest lies.
Superintendent of Public Instruction, Jillian Balow, just delivered her first report following Youngkin’s “Executive Order One,” which calls on her to identify and address “inherently divisive concepts – including ‘Critical Race Theory and its progeny’ – in public education.”
While Democrats have been railing against Youngkin’s administration, his logic is awfully difficult to argue with since “inherently divisive concepts” was defined to mean “advancing any ideas in violation of Title IV and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.”
Youngkin shocked Democrats across the nation in November when he won after listening to parents – including some Democrats and Independents – who are fed up with the leftist propaganda being pushed through public schools.
While Democrats mocked Youngkin for claiming CRT was being taught in classrooms, the new Governor and his Lieutenant Governor, Winsome Sears, knew better.
As his first act in office he signed an order officially banning CRT.
After that, the Republican even went as far as setting up an email tip line so parents can report CRT concepts being pushed on their kids.
Now Barlow, who resigned as Wyoming’s Superintendent of Public Instruction to take on Virginia’s school system is blowing the cover off all kinds of ugly stuff happening behind the scenes.
She’s completely wiped out six different sources of CRT-based material within the department and has rescinded one program and partially rescinded another while evaluating whether there’s anything worth salvaging in either.
The first target on her list was the EdEquityVA website because, in Balow’s words, “Numerous resources within EdEquityVA employ the concept that current discrimination is needed to address past discrimination. (Treating people differently based on skin color to remedy old/previous discrimination.)”
She also noted that numerous resources in the site push a redefinition of equity that means, “there can be no differences or disproportionalities between students – and any difference in what students have or what they achieve is due to systemic racism.”
The site also pushed reading material from Ibram X. Kendi and Gloria Ladson-Billings.
Another ugly concept included in materials on the site claimed that “White People benefit from racism, regardless of intentions.”
The rest of the Superintendent’s report included a laundry list of horrible leftist ideas including “equity checkpoints” and watered down math requirements disguised as “Dismantling inequitable structures that challenge spaces of marginality and privilege are needed to ensure that every student is well prepared with the mathematical literacy they require and deserve . . .”
An increasing number of American parents are starting to realize their children’s minds are being taken captive and they’re gearing up to fight back.
Balow’s reports, which are scheduled to come out every 90 days, will only add fuel to the fire as Americans look to Virginia as a model to kick CRT out of schools for good.
