Far-left prosecutors who won’t prosecute have turned city after city into crime-infested hellscapes in recent years.
And it has all occurred with a major assist from one far-left billionaire ideologue.
Now George Soros is spending huge sums of money to spread leftist misery to this new city.
Globalist far-left donor George Soros is attempting to buy another election.
A Dugan win equals “bought and paid for”
According to a new financial filing, Soros is the sole contributor to an outside political group financing most of Democrat Matt Dugan’s run for Allegheny County (metro Pittsburgh) district attorney.
The Justice and Safety PAC, a national organization with absolutely zero ties to Western Pennsylvania, is running ads against incumbent Steve Zappala in next Tuesday’s Pennsylvania Democratic primary.
Setting aside the Soros cash, Dugan has only raised $76,764.17 for his entire campaign, with Zappala raising $226,800.
Soros’ PAC has invested $734,000 to back Dugan.
In an op-ed published last year, Soros wrote, “The idea that we need to choose between justice and safety is false. They reinforce each other: If people trust the justice system, it will work. And if the system works, public safety will improve.”
In practice, what’s really happened is that good, law-abiding people have little reason to trust the justice system when the players in control have no interest in justice.
The crime spike that has occurred in Los Angeles since Soros-backed Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon came to power is just one tragic example.
Another was in 2017 when Soros spent $1.7 million supporting the winning campaign of Larry Krasner for Philadelphia district attorney.
That sum was five times as much as Krasner himself spent and represented over 30% of all the spending in the seven-candidate primary.
Those results have been just as disastrous.
With Krasner in office, recidivism rates have skyrocketed because he refuses to charge low-level offenders.Â
Last year, the Philadelphia Police Department recorded 502 murders, down slightly from the record-high 562 homicides in 2021.
Zappala is rightfully incensed at the outside influence, noting that the social justice PAC was spending 10 times as much money to elect Dugan as Dugan was spending on himself.
Zappala spokesman Mike Mikus said in the statement, “No rational person believes that any politician who gets nearly all their funding from one source won’t be taking orders from them once taking office.”
Voters who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it
One victims’ rights advocate said, “The choice for DA is one of the most important offices we have the privilege to elect. It must be given careful consideration, lest we elect the wrong person. All one has to do is look at the Philadelphia. Those of us that work in the system understand that electing a public defender as our chief law enforcement officer is not in the best interest of our safety nor victims.”
Here’s to hoping that Soros and his money aren’t able to corrupt yet another community.
