Gavin Newsom is itching to outdo all his political elite elders—including Nancy Pelosi.
And a bid for the White House seems like the best way to get one up on Aunt Nancy.
But his latest attention-grasping stunt will leave you scratching your head.
Gavin Newsom’s latest effort to make headlines smells a lot like desperation.
The California governor marked the beginning of his second term by orchestrating a dog and pony show performance for the leftist press.
Planned 2nd term inauguration speech turned out to be last whimpers of January 6 witch hunt
In spite of Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Special Committee finally dissolving after failing to produce a smoking gun blaming Donald Trump for the January 6, 2021 US Capitol riot, Newsom decided to attempt squeezing the last drops of political benefit out of the meltdown that was mostly his one-time relative’s fault.
Newsom not only scheduled his acceptance speech for his second term for January 6, he also participated in a ridiculous “march” across a bridge to the capitol in Sacramento inexplicably bragging about “the California way.”
Rather than focus on the state he’s been letting down for years—even as poverty rates in California skyrocket—Newsom spent his time in the limelight griping about red state governors.
“They’re promoting grievance and victimhood, in an attempt to erase so much of the progress you and I have witnessed in our lifetime,” Newsom whined. “They make it harder to vote and easier to buy illegal guns. They silence speech, fire teachers, kidnap migrants, subjugate women, attack the Special Olympics, and even demonize Mickey Mouse.”
Newsom keeps aiming at top Conservative Governor Ron DeSantis
Naturally, the man in his political crosshairs is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Newsom claims to have “subzero interest” in challenging Joe Biden for the White House.
And yet the “failing upward” poster child Gavin Newsom continues to go after the presumed top-two GOP contender like a dog to a bone.
That’s despite Governor DeSantis having thus far not publicly declared his intention to challenge former President Donald Trump, or the host of RINOs who will likely run in 2024.
While Newsom likes to talk a big game, he may run into a brick wall soon.
Political watchers have noted that there’s serious trouble on the horizon for the Golden State.
According to Politico “Newsom will need to contend with the economic storm clouds massing on the horizon. A projected deficit would reverse years of booming surpluses that enabled ambitious policies, such as extending health care to undocumented immigrants.”
The truth is that Newsom can mock Republicans all he wants, but when the reality of awful policies put into motion by Democrats sink in, politicians like Newsom are going to have to do some fancy footwork to get themselves out of trouble.
Randomly complaining about Republicans on January 6 isn’t likely to count for much.
