Americans are desperately fleeing blue states from California to New York as a direct result of the damage Democrats have done to these states.
These people are rightfully sick and tired of paying punishing taxes just for it to go to free needle exchanges, and generous welfare programs to illegal aliens, among other disastrous Democrat policies.
But Gavin Newsom was just silenced by these three words.
California is seeing an unprecedented exodus after years of Democrat domination
People are fleeing California in droves in recent years, and it is not too difficult to determine why.
Decades of Democrat control have made taxes unbearable, crime is out of hand, and illegal aliens have more rights than citizens.
According to KTLA, over 300,000 Californians left the Golden State from Jan. 1, 2020, to July 1, 2021. And California only had a 6% growth rate from 2010 to 2020 which is the lowest decade-long growth rate in California’s history.
Hans Johnson, a senior fellow for the Public Policy Institute of California wrote, “Since 2010, about 7.5 million people moved from California to other states, while only 5.8 million people moved to California from other parts of the country. According to Department of Finance estimates, the state has lost residents to other states every year since 2001,”.
Some of the popular destinations for these Californian refugees include the typically red states of Arizona, Utah, Texas, and Nevada.
The only problem is, these Californians often bring their failed ideologies and voting habits with them to these red states, and the natives of these states are fed up.
UT Governor doesn’t want more California transplants
Just last Friday, Utah Governor Spencer Cox spoke to reporters outside of the White House about this issue.
Per Governor Cox, “This last Census confirmed that Utah was the fastest-growing state over the past ten years. So our biggest problems are more growth-related. We would love for people to stay in California rather than coming as refugees to Utah.”
Cox added “Our biggest problem right now is housing, and water … because we’ve grown so quickly, we need a larger supply of housing. That’s where our focus is. We’re not working to attract more people. We’re doing just fine that way.”
For most of California’s existence, attracting new residents has not been an issue.
The warm weather, beautiful beaches, and picturesque landscapes speak for themselves.
Unfortunately, the far Left has managed to ruin this once beautiful and thriving state with extreme pro-crime and pro-illegal immigration policies.
Life is basically unlivable in California by most accounts, and unless something is done quickly, this trend will likely continue.
