It is no secret that most Democrats and leftists loathe the Second Amendment and the entire concept to private gun ownership for that matter.
For that reason, many Democrat politicians have pushed the limits of the Second Amendment, creating policies specifically designed to snatch guns from law-abiding citizens.
And, Gavin Newsom is overwhelmed with joy after a federal court hands him this shocking victory.
Gavin Newsom has finally pushed the envelope too far
Since taking the Oath of Office, California Governor Gavin Newsom has made what he calls “common sense gun control” a top priority.
For years, California Democrats have made this their top priority, passing a slew of measures to combat “gun violence.”
One such measure includes California’s ban on so-called “assault weapons” which was passed roughly 30 years ago.
However, last week United States District Judge Roger Benitez in San Diego overturned this decades-old law on the grounds that it violated the Second Amendment Right to keep and bear arms.
In his ruling, Benitez said, “The State of California posits that its ‘assault weapon’ ban, the law challenged here, promotes an important public interest of disarming some mass shooters even though it makes criminals of law-abiding residents who insist on acquiring these firearms for self-defense.”
Almost immediately after this ruling, the radical Left screamed bloody murder, with California Attorney General Rob Bonta going as far as to say “We must protect our communities from these dangerous weapons. We know that these restrictions work to prevent mass casualty events and save lives.”
Without skipping a beat, California Democrats appealed this ruling, and on Saturday the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit granted an administrative stay on Judge Benitez’s ruling.
This stay effectively pauses the order, meaning that California’s so-called assault weapons ban is active once again.
California Democrats will not rest until all law-abiding citizens are rendered defenseless
Ever since the riots of 2020, California has descended into even more lawlessness.
Now more than ever, California residents have to rely on themselves for protection, yet California Democrats are hell-bent on disarming them.
Most criminal justice experts will tell you that California’s so-called “assault weapon” ban has done little to nothing to prevent crime in California, and if anything, crime has gotten worse since its passage.
Additionally, many criminals have access to so-called “assault weapons” through the black market meaning that these criminals are armed as law-abiding citizens are afraid to leave their homes.
